Evening has fallen on the Frostbreath Steppe. The soft, dark velvet of the night sky is studded with stars, and a full moon hangs heavily, suspended from the heavens. Below, the newly fallen layer of snow glows a soft silver, reflecting the dim lights from above. The stars, it would seem, are both above and below, and as they twinkle in the sky, their reflections flicker on the ground.

It comes silently from the north, so slowly that one might not notice it at first. The stars closest to the horizon seem to blaze, and then wink out. It is sudden, unexpected, but as the wave of darkness creeps across the sky, it moves so slowly that you only take note when the moon's glow begins to fade. You look up, surprised, and a feeling of horror fills your chest, emptying you of all other emotion. You take a step back, toward the south, and all of a sudden, you turn tail and run. The snow, ivory turned to grey, sprays up behind you. Where moments before, you were admiring the beauty of the winter wonderland come early, you are now running for your life.

You don't know what the darkness is, but you know in your heart that it is evil. You must get away.

And never return.

You would of thought that the end of such a journey would result in relieved sighs and pleased smile. Emptiness paints his facade beneath his mask, held down with the weight of cold winds and thin air. No heavy heaves attack his chest and push his exposed ribs forward while his green eyes capture the beginning of night fall. Though he is tired and needs rest with his legs shaking, he pushed forward and came with the idea slipped as a pill to his mind that the deeper he was inside the snow banks and mountain peaks, the less likely he was to come across other's that may annoy his twisted mind.
When the night swept with it's wispy fingers across a black silk blanket that lay on the night, thin and worn spots bringing out faint lights, his mind uncoils and free's itself from the tangled mess it finds itself within. It is near time to rest when the stars, distant and blurred heavily by the glass above his eyes, glow bright and burst like an overworked light bulb.
He takes it as the dying of distant stars, fading and breathing their final breaths so that their elements are brought out to the empty void of space. Scinfaxi knows it's something different the moment that the ones in front of those suffer the same, reoccuring fate as the ones before them.
'Maybe we should leave. Something is happening, and surely this place will be lost soon.' "RUN. RUN BEFORE THE DEATH COMES FOR YOU." Yes.
A deep burning strikes into his heart and he turns this time, performing the one that the bag of bones would never thought of ever coming upon.
He runs, fleeing the night and making his way down the mountains. It nips at his heels until the snow begins to thin, or as far as he has known the snow that coat the earth here, it is thinning.
The break from the place is when his green eyes are brought back to watch the end of the frozen land coming to the night, and facing only what he can guess is something much worse than any dark art.
With that final glance, he is gone.
