Darkness had taken over Helovia, and Tingal had been the first one to figure it out. Hotaru had refused to believe it, at first, but then she'd seen the demonic things herself. Of course, Tingal had urged her to go to safety, and she had begrudgingly obeyed. Despite knowing he only meant well, it still bothered her substantially, because her freedom was something she cherished, and Tingal bossing her around- no matter the reason- was taken as a threat to that freedom. Already he had confessed to her not only his feelings, but his desire to have foals with her. He didn't see that she had so few friends, so little experience, with only him leading the way since they'd first met when she was very young. Why was he so hopelessly enamored with her? What about her was so impossibly captivating, that it kept him at her side like a faithful dog, no matter the barbed words she often took out on him in frustration? Raeden had made it clear she was nothing special, and Hotaru stood by that firmly, even as she grew older and began to grow into her lanky limbs- turning into an elegant vision of deep pinks and soft creams.

The click of her hooves touching the stone below was melodic, almost, as she went exploring through the Sanctuary. There were too many people, and it made her skin itch, her throat clog and her breathing quicken. She'd been isolated for so long, out of choice of course, but it did nothing to calm her desires that begged her to run or snap at those that got too close. There was only so much space, she knew it was unfair for her to take it out on the other refugees, but she was a wild thing meant for open spaces and solitude. This was not something she could handle, locked in a cavern like a caged animal, unable to escape without threatening her life and sanity to the demons that crawled like insidious spiders across Helovia's sanctified ground.

So she searched for a cavern of her own, for something, at least. Anything with few people, or none, was preferable. Instead she found a glow of green and blue, and it stole her gaze away, piquing her curiosity until she could not deny it any longer. Giving a little shrug to herself, she swiveled on heel and went to investigate. Just like the previous caverns that branched off from the main Sanctuary, it was a room all to its own, but all along the walls were glowing orbs. Trees grew, fragile and sinewy, and their leaves were glowing. It was surprisingly fertile, and absolutely, breath-takingly beautiful. Hotaru gasped as she looked upon it, hetero eyes gazing around in awe almost reverently.

It was...it was simply gorgeous.

"Holy shit...this is gorgeous..."
she breathed, and a small smile lifted her lips in a rarely seen display of appreciation for the sight before her.
