BIRDSONG :: YEAR FOUR
#19. a finger print on time [Active] :: Mermaid, still slowly regaining her strength and still fighting memories and feelings of loss, discovers the Ancient Rotunda for the first time. She is amazed by the magical structure and captivated by the beauty surrounding it but someone or something lurks in the shadows. Lonely and careless of any need for caution she calls out inviting whoever, or whatever it is to come closer...
#18. when stars are hiding in the clouds; I don't feel them shining [Active] :: After being driven from the beach by unwelcome memories Mermaid visits the Heavenly Fields for a second time and watches a lazy sunrise.
#17. like a comet pulled from orbit; as it passes a sun [Active] :: Mermaid ventures back to Helovia's Heart for she fears some of her friends may be trapped in the caves. She can not work up the courage to return to the underground though.
#16. like a stream that meets a boulder; halfway through a wood [Active] :: Mermaid conquers her fear of steep mountain paths collapsing beneath her and makes the climb to Heavenly Fields.
#15. curiosity killed the cat [Active] :: Mostly recovered but still a little weak from her bought with "cold fever" (hypothermia) Mermaid begins exploring the vast lands of Helovia. Her exploration brings her, somewhat reluctantly, to the Deep Woods where she happens upon Fraub and Ghost. Abishia makes a loud and clumsy entrance directly after Mermaid's arrival. Is Mermaid being stalked? How, strange...
#14. master, master [Active] :: Recovered in wits, if not back to full strength, Mermaid wanders along the Endless Blue beach and comes upon the silent Vadim who is having some difficult with his mischievous companion. Abishia quickly joins them.
FROSTFALL :: YEAR FOUR
#13. detour [Active] :: Mermaid arrives in the Endless Blue under the escort of Ruske. She is still unwell and decides, perhaps unwisely, that sleep will help.
#12. hunger [Ended] [C] :: Mermaid travels deeper within Helovia, discovers Thistle Meadow, romps like a filly, falls in a river and demands aid from Ruske. Ruske is less than impressed but decides to help her anyway. Mermaid suffers mild hypothermia, be comes very confused and, after insisting that she makes her home on a beach, is promptly escorted to the Endless Blue.
#11. all the stars are coming out tonight, lighting up the sky tonight [Ended] [A] :: Mermaid makes her exit from the caves at last.
#10. the art of killing demons [Ended] [A] :: Mermaid returns to the Crystal Cavern maze and bumps in to Windwalker, quite literally. They grouch at each other for a moment or two and Mermaid moves on wanting very badly to get out of the maze.
#9. she's brighter than a thousand stars [Ended] [A] :: Mermaid returns to the Glowing Room in search of a meal and becomes entranced by Frost Fyre's "summoning" of miniature sky-scapes. She is memorized into slumber and when she wakes the girl is gone leaving Mermaid to assume it was all a dream...
#8. claustrophobia [Active] :: Mermaid welcomes the Pegasus female Nasreen, who has just discovered the Sanctuary.
#7. nightmares [Dropped - by me :(] [A] :: Escaping the maze of the Crystal Cavern for the Glowing Room she finds strange, underground trees and the first meal she has had in days. She is distracted from stuffing her face by a terrifying scream and when going to investigate discovers Kahlua awaking from a nightmare. Mermaid is most interested in the first horse she has met since entering Helovia. Kahlua, though reticent at first, seems happy enough to meet Mermaid too. Then Mauja joins the party causing Mermaid to flake out and run away...
#6. chandeliers [Ended] [A] :: She stumbles upon Farenjer in the Crystal Cavern labyrinth. At first she mistakes him for a dangerous monster but he quickly convinces her otherwise. She still finds it difficult to look him in the face because his one glowing ice-blue eye makes her think of ghosts. He is interesting to her though and meeting him helps strengthen her resolve to visit the Basin one day despite the final scare he gives her by seeming to vanish into thin air.
#5. for you there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do [Ended] [A] :: Continuing her underground exploration Mermaid enters the pit and discovers a "bird" named Kari. He is not inclined to trust her attempts to sooth him, in fact he decides she is a monster planning to eat him. Unable to convince him otherwise Mermaid watches him flee to the side of Circe and decides that it might be for the best. With luck this other mare can provide what Mermaid knows she can not. She makes a point of remembering all that she can of the boy though and plans to seek him out again in the future.
#4. she came from the sea; and to it returns... [Active] :: Mermaid ventures to The Sunken Falls. There she is happened upon by little Asch
#3. making our mark in the flow of time [Ended] [C] :: Mermaid discovers The Wall of History, is happened upon by Elsa and has a rather odd conversation with the girl. She finds after that she hasn't really learned much about Helovia, save for a little bit concerning the wall. Mermaid has never been opposed to being faced with mysteries though and as decided that Elsa is one to be solved in addition to the wall it self.
#2. there are ghost towns in the ocean [Dropped-by me :(] [A] :: Lena leads Elsiyum and Mermaid to the Sanctuary entrance but Mermaid balks as soon as she realizes they are about to go underground. Lena manages to sooth Mermaid's fear with a strange song, it is laced with healing magic of course but Mermaid does not know this. She is coaxed to safety and exhausted falls asleep in the sanctuary. When she wakes neither Lena nor Elsiyum is to be found.
ORANGEMOON :: YEAR THREE
#1. one plus one makes me [Ended] [A] :: Mermaid arrives in the Threshold after tumbling through a mountain path in another world and encounters Elsiyum. The girl's plight wins the kindhearted woman over very quickly and she decides to become Elsiyum's protector and friend. They are about to stumble off blindly into the terror that has taken Helovia when Lena finds them and offers herself as guide. With winter looming on the horizon, the three make their slow way towards safety.
