The Poisoner

Her name resounded through the caverns, and her head jerked up sharply, alarmed by the fact it directly followed Apollo's own title. She knew the voice that called for her, that seemed to call for all of them, even. Even if she had not, calling the two leaders was more than ample evidence that it was one of her flock. Spinning on heel she runs towards the voice, easily twisting around corners as she targets the echo, Ao running ahead of her on swift, silent paws to show she is on her way. The cadence of her hooves is like a rhythm of hope and fear in her heart, and as she spies Arrane's pale form she slows and turns to face him.

Before she has time to address him he is continuing on, and her heart stutters to a halt at what he reveals. The wraiths can be cured. At first she wants to snap at him, force him into submission for daring to speak such horrid lies, but then she recalls he was sent by Midas. Of course Midas would not thoughtlessly give false hope to the sunken-eyed despairing refugees, it was completely against his character. The Earth Lord...her skin trembled as she recalled all he had done for her. Giving her a home, the gift of healing, the title of ruler over the flock she once held safely in those green pastures. As much as she hated the Moon Bitch, she revered the Earth God.

"If this is true then we must find some sort of way to transport the water outside of these caves, or create groups to drag the wraiths inside to force them into the water. Crafters, please report to your leaders!" Sharply she turned to Arrane, and her eyes softened. He had done well. She knew him only in passing, but swore to herself she would remedy that. In such close proximity, she owed it to them to be at their sides whenever they needed her. "You have done well, Arrane." It is a heavy compliment, coming from the Poisoner's lips, but she is sincere, and the weight of her stunning violet eyes rests upon his form. He has given them hope. Has given her hope.
