"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Elsa was happy to have Otz by her side. The hardy unicorn would do well within the Asylum. He spoke of wanting to be a warrior, and that was just the thing the Asylum needed for protection. A smile was evident as she quickly moved towards the cave, through the dark Heart. She turned to the stallion who she hoped was still following. "Otz, this darkness around Helovia's Heart. It's from something beyond us. You have come at a dark time. I believe this is what Valhalia was talking about." She shuddered a little and her smile faded as the darkness continued to darken. She noticed a little open hole, not far off, probably the sanctuary. "Here, we need to get down here. Be careful, the slope is slippery but it opens up to a large cavern beneath." She slid down, and the moment her hooves touched the flat stone floor she looked about for other Asylum members. "Asylum! I would like to meet more of you, and so would Otz, he's fresh from the Threshold!" She called out into the darkness, hoping at least one of them would appear to greet him. She didn't want to seem like an idiot and bring back a stallion who was expecting more of a herd life.
She turned to Otz, and whispered one more time. "By the way, they are a little weird, but I assure you they are all good at heart." She smiled, hoping to relieve any tension the stallion carried within him. The last thing she wanted to do was scare him off before he even met the rest of them.
[ooc;// sorry it's quick, I was started and then suddenly crunched for time. :/ the next response will be better.]
[FOR: @[Otz] & Asylum, others are welcome to join though!]
Otz followed the white girl out of the forest, the trees broke to open up to a grassy meadow. Faded into the distance a smoking volcano broke the horizon. At first Otz believed that was where they were going, but then the pegasus suddenly led him to a giant hole in the ground which was hidden in the land scape by long grass and hill cuts in the dirt. He tread carefully on their trek through the new territory, each step was just as hostile as the last. Darkness threatened to swallow them both as he allowed her to lead him under the earth. Otz was wary and unsure. Perhaps this was a bad idea? His hooves slid unstably across the smooth rocks and waxy glass-like crystals. He could feel a hot breath roll over his skin as he followed Elsa further into the cave. He's explored mountains with hot geysers before, but he's never been underground.
"So you say I've come at a dark time, what is it you speak of?" He questioned the mare, trying to keep his eyes at his feet and his mind off his fears. But before he got an answer she'd yelled into the cave hoping to draw dwellers of the herd out from the darkness. Her voice boomed in his ears as the sound of her screams bounced from cave wall to cave wall with no opening to escape, the depths of the cave chanted Elsa's call with several repetitive echoes. Ot'z ears flattened to his neck, he wasn't angry per say, but aggravated by the ringing Elsa had left in his ear drums this was his only means of covering his ears.
Whelp, if no one knew they were down here, they do now.
"So you don't know all the herd members?" He asked curiously, he did find it a tad strange a herd doesn't keep track of each other, but he supposed a newer herd plucking recruits from the air were bound to lose some to the wind.
He asked a question while she was amidst her calling, and quickly following it with another inquiry. She let her echo die down as his questions still hung unanswered. Hopefully she would be able to give him the answer he deserved. Although, she herself still wasn't quite sure what was going on, other than wraiths and darkness; but it was not good. She frowned to look at him, not quite sure how to bring up this topic. It would go one of a million ways. He could love it, hate it, fear it, become indifferent, or want to join elsewhere, the possibilities were endless. She took a deep breath and steadied her voice, ready to keep in quite as to not scare any children or innocent members of Helovia that happened to meander along if they did so. "Dark times indeed..." Her voice started out very ominous, pausing a moment before continuing. "I flew here to find this place the other day... and if I had not found this Sanctuary, I would have been in dire trouble." She eyed Otz again, hoping she had not scared him off. "There are things out there... wraiths as they are being called." She remembered back to Abishia and how she trembled as she spoke, afraid to relive some memory that was no doubt traumatic. "These wraiths are attacking, and darkness is consuming. The land... my herd-land, the Deep Forest that I spoke of, it's been... consumed." She thought of the threats, the fear and everything that had consumed her. "Whatever it is, you must promise me Otz, that you will not go out there. I fear this is far beyond what any normal horse can do. It's up to any Gods, or whomever created this land, to fix this." She sighed, and moved quickly onto his next question. She did not want to dwell on thoughts of death and darkness. No, she was still young and she intended to live life to it's fullest.
She laughed as she thought about his question. She had, in fact, almost met no one. Oxy had been the only one she had met, and he wasn't exactly the most friendly thing out there. Although he was quite the comedian, probably due to his drug thing. "Not quite. You see, since we don't exactly have boarders as we a large outcast group from what Oxy told me, we don't exactly run into each other. We have so much open space, or well, did, before all this happened. Im hoping one of them will join us soon." She said with a sideways glance at him. She was being a little vague, but with the current situation, she was hoping a normal horse would show up to greet him. She didn't want him to think they were all crazies. "Well while we are waiting, do you have any questions?"
"Talking"
Otz studied Elsa as she struggled to work up the nerve to explain the situation to him. He stared at her in silence with both patience and curiosity as he watched the girl stumble over her fear. It took her a moment... And then she told him.
Otz thought over her words with tight lips and a look of serious concentration, he was unsure what to make of Elsa's words of advice. She doesn't know the foe plaguing this kingdom but it was still enough to scare her into hiding. But then again you couldn't exactly describe Elsa as brave on a first impression. Something she may fear as dangerous could be merely a day to day nuisance for a horse with a bit more bite. Otz thought back to his younger days when his old home had become infested with wolves, many unicorns were driven into hiding for fear of their lives. All but the soldiers who knew how to fight.
A pleased smile teased at his lips as flash backs of his days slaying wolf after wolf re-emerged from the deepest reaches of his memories. Maybe these wraiths are similar? He would put this problem into more question until he found out what was truly going on. "I know you are afraid, Elsa, but I cannot allow fear to push me into hiding. If there is a way to defeat this evil, we need to find it."
Otz stared out of the opening of the sanctuary cave, he desired to leave, he's never been unable to see the sky before. But he kept his wishes silent to keep Elsa's mind at rest.
Otz smiled again and looked up at Elsa, he wanted to assure her she didn't need to make their time together so formal. He is a man of honor, this didn't mean he doesn't know how to have fun. "No, miss. You can relax." He tried to sooth her. "Well," He quickly corrected himself, "I am rather parched and my wounds could use some cleaning, do you know if there is water somewhere in close by?"The large slice across his chest was healing, but the rotting flesh hanging loosely off his chest oozed with blood and puss as his body fought off infection.
He was obviously the knightly-type. He was firm in his belief to fight this thing. She shook her head, and looked to Otz, only offering a shrug. "I don't think you understand the magnitude of what is out there." She said with one final urge to plead him to stay down here. "If you wish though, I can't keep you here. I have seen my fair share of destruction in my life, and this is not something that merely brute force can fix." At the end of that note she looked to the entrance, as if afraid one of the wraiths would swoop in and find their hiding place.
He told her to relax and she laughed. She would never be able to relax. No matter where she was in here life, relaxation would be a gift from the gods, and she was not the one to be gifted often. There were bigger matters to attend to, like his wounds. They were disgusting looking, and that is putting it nice. She eyed them with a little repulsion but smiled. "I hear there is a falls, I have yet to explore that room yet, but I would assume it's that way." She nodded towards the distant sound of roaring, a small entrance seemed to be the only thing in the way between them and water for him. "If you need me, or wish me to escort you, I could. Otherwise, if you wish to go explore on your own, you are free to that! You seem like the type who can handle yourself." The last comment was slightly back handed, but she meant it in good fun. "Anything else? I don't want to keep you trapped here more so than you already are."
[ooc;// @[Otz] sorry it took so long. >.< if you wish we can continue this, or you're free to end it, whatever you want to do. :3]
