"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

She saw the tears in his eyes, watched them all as they ran down his face and stained his dark cheek. He stood there, close to the wall, getting as close as possible as he could against the shivering rocks. She didn’t understand why he was crying, it didn’t solve anything at all. It was pointless – worthless. If he was hurt, he must’ve been hurt bad. The only time she had ever seen a man cry was when they were really upset – or if they were just plain out, big babies. But this one was upset, unlike any other. That was a first.
Hellä stood at a distance, making sure to keep herself firmly in the shadows of the corners. He could not see her, even if she did want to give him a person to talk to, she had to stay here. The girl had known studs for the short-temper tantrums, and if the male felt threatened, he might as well attack. From the way he looked, he was having one of those days where the world felt as if it was against you. No matter what force you put your messy self into, the world would crush you till your last dying breath. Hellä had felt that before; several times to be accurate. Her general position back in Isilme had pushed and pushed until she could no longer take it, and then she left. She disappeared from the reaches of the crushing hand, she had run until her heart sunk to her hooves, barely pumping the blood through her restless body.
And now, here she was, watching as a dark steed got crushed by that invisible force, dying from the pressure that she once had to deal with herself. She knew the pain that it brought; the tears, the loneliness, and the dying wish. She knew it all, and didn’t want to meet it again. Hellä was lucky she had escaped it the first time. But she was not sure that she was the same as she had been before the attack. Maybe she had changed, even the slightest where she couldn’t all believe it because she couldn’t see it. Perhaps she couldn’t even feel it.
Suddenly, the thunder of hooves caught her attention. She grasped for air before noticing the black stallion taking off at full speed. What the--? Hellä didn’t waste her time finishing her thoughts; she took off, trailing behind him. But unlike him, she stayed light-footing, hoping he would notice that he was being followed. His steps were heavy, filled with might and power, shaking the ground with the lose stones crackling against the hard floor. She crept quietly, learning easily from past battles, that it came in handy.
When Hellä noticed the stud was heading towards the entrance, she veered off to the nearest corner, hiding from him when he stopped. She peered around the ledge, watching as he took his last step forward and then looked toward the entering. There stood a mare, but none of the ones she had ever seen. She was one of those ugly, discussing, humiliating wraiths. She sneered, but she didn’t move. Hellä held firm in her position, listening to the, somewhat deadly, conversation. She had to choke for air when he asked the mare a question, "What have you done with my daughter!?"
