If your character is currently a wraith, it will not be able to bond with a companion or gain new magic. Due to the nature of the disease, the mind is so blurred and reality is so distorted that it wouldn't really make sense. A wraith wouldn't be capable of caring for an egg for the required 2 weeks, nor would they be likely to have any interest in doing so. OOCly, these are prizes, so they aren't going anywhere. :3
Prizes can otherwise be used whenever and on whoever you want, regardless of wishlist times. We use the wishlist as a way to make player vs. player competition (like drops) fair. Since these are "free" prizes, you can use them however you want (but please think first so you don't regret it later ;) ).
