Justice without force is powerless
Force without justice is tyrannical.
- Blaise Pascal

The stallion before her does not speak. It is a realization that dawns on her in-between his shuffling steps and tapping of hooves, an act she can only assume is his attempt at explanation. Her 'brow grows increasingly furrowed however, confusion growing in the lines of her face. She doesn't follow the difference of one shadowy corner to the other, but that anger that she'd seen in his eyes, that had said a lot. "He is not the first to be angry with the truth," Ampere thinks, ignorant to the reasoning within the mute stud.

She takes a guess though, based on her experiences with other abandoned eggs and greedy horses. "You found it here?" A gentle query, but her intent is not as so. Finders keepers losers weepers hardly applies to a mother's child.

Ampere is distracted from her attempts at deciphering the pale stallion's charades as a scene bursts into existence, startling Ampere briefly as her feathers fluffed against her sides. Soon enough she recognized the work of magic and its lack of harm though, growing instead intrigued by the cloned boy and egg laid before her. It seemed so real, yet shimmered with a certain light that suggested its illusionary construction. Ampere reached her nose out to touch it, but withdrew as fake-Vadim moved off the egg, his rump yellowed. Ampere's lips twisted into a smirk, a gentle laugh peeping past her lips while the illusion dispersed.

She turned, catching his eye as her humor faded. "You needn't sit on it," she detailed further, her voice kind, her desire to see the egg cared for real. "Just beside it, so that you will warm it. In it's nest it won't roll, so you needn't fear as long as you're mindful of your own hooves. Eggs are hardier than you think." Birds were certainly no lightweights after all, though considerably more so than a horse.

The moment of increasing peace was disrupted them by a mare that arrived, her voice meant to be gentle, but her presence imposing. Ampere's ears flicked back at the implication her yelling had upset the dragon any further than his life of slavery to the mare had done. She grit her teeth together though, her gaze drifting away from the girl - she did not want to start a fight, or so she kept trying to remind herself. "It will do no good, least of all with her," Ampere thinks, seeing as the girls seems especially attached to her dragon and in turn it is thus to her, its emotions tangled among hers.

What a sad and unfortunate existence.

It proves difficult to stay quiet for long however, as it not only seems to go against Ampere's nature, but Nayati, as she is called, has the gall to say the gods deliver them companions. Ampere scoffs aloud, her attention whipping around to the naive girl. "Is that what you think?" Ampere interrupts, her voice swollen with disbelief. "You think that gods deliver these poor creatures to you?" Normally Ampere would have laughed at this idea, but the girl believed it so strongly Ampere could only snort, her anger burning hot in her gut. "The gods do not pay such close attention. These eggs that Helovia has scattered around are products of misfortune, coveted by the greedy intentions of horses everywhere. Dead mothers, jealous fathers, hungry brothers, cruel sisters, violent predators... all of these are reasons an egg may wind up alone and vulnerable, all of which is the work of mortals."

Ampere shook her head, a sadness creeping into the place where her rage had nestled. They mixed together, at times causing her voice to rise while at others it fell, each only flashing across the electric plane of her eyes as her heart wept for the plight of the companions. "It matters not the intentions of your heart, just the act of bonding enslaves the creature that would otherwise have been able to live a free life, with its own kind. With horses they can never create their own family, never find their own love, their own adventure. They are bound to your soul and there remain for eternity or death, and I ask you, what kind of enjoyable life is that? How would you enjoy if you were forced to bond to someone else?" Ampere spat, disgusted all over again by the very process of bonding. "Face it, they are defenseless and in their moment of weakness they are preyed upon by the lonely hearts and power hungry. They are forced to be our companions and shoved into battles they've no hope of winning."
