The God of the Sun watched her gaze wander, but not in the distance. She seemed to be looking inward from the glaze over the blue tint of her eyes. Absently he wondered what she was thinking about, but he didn't want to pry - not this time. The last opportunity he had to peek into the mind of another, he was disappointed, and he wanted no reason to change his mind - not this time.
Instead of bringing her attention back in his usual manner with a snide remark, he touched her, feeling the way her body almost melted against his own. Partly he felt amusement at his effect on her, but mostly he was shocked. She was such a strong soul, but he supposed that they were more similar than he had thought. Everyone needed someone, especially the strong ones.
As she began to groom him, he stiffened at first. He had not expected this at all, but much to his surprise, it felt... nice. Eventually, he relaxed, closing his eyes and allowing her touch to calm the flames inside. With a deep breath, he returned the favor, cursing and praising the scent she exuded, encouraged by the flick of her tail.
The flames around his body began to burn again, but they did not harm Ampere. As he courted her, the flames shielded, enveloping them in an inferno.
Fade.
The God of the Sun stood, confident and proud. Should she bear his child, he would be pleased, and if this ended here, he was at least glad that it happened. "Your followers will learn to appreciate your strength and boldness if you show them your respect," he advised, the words ironic from him. "A strong herd is not many but takes advantage of the strengths of each member." He leaned forward, pressing his muzzle to her cheek.
The God disappeared in a pillar of flames.
