Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

It was strange to even think that Note had restricted himself to traveling by land for two years. Two years. He was a pegasus with thoroughbred blood flowing throughout his veins. It drove him crazy to stay in one place for long, as of late, flying had been his escape. When he flew, no thoughts muddled his mind or threatened to attack any other beings. Another good reason as to why the faded bay preferred to be alone. He wanted to protect and stand for a herd, but not actually interact with said herd. Was that bad?
Probably. Did he care?
Not particularly. It was a simple explanation as to how Note found himself in the Deep Forest. Not exactly close to his herd, but not far enough to miss anything extraordinarily important.
Note's head was extended directly upwards, peering at the brush far above his head. Life in Helovia had been rejuvenated with the arrival of Birdsong. The birds did, indeed, sing their songs, grass grew in the place of snow and a warm breeze was upon the air at all times. It was as if Helovia had forgotten to live during Frostfall. Unfortunate, really, for there was much to see during the colder months. But the land didn't support creatures of such diverse adaptability regarding temperatures.
Their loss.
With a snort, Note pulled his head down, done staring at the leafy branches above for now. There wasn't much fun to be found by staring at foliage, really. But it was rather interesting to watch the world grow as it recovered from Frostfall. It was similar to watching a child grow. A slow process, but intriguing nonetheless.
If only he had shared such memories with own daughter, alas, the bay was not so blessed in that area.
To distract himself from the utter turmoil that came with thoughts of Skysong, the bay took to watching Sabel. The cat was hunting, haunches low to the ground as she located her target. She was nestled between a bush and a tree trunk, making it slightly easier to find her way to the scrawny rabbit she had chosen as her prey. She had spent a great deal of time familiarizing herself with the small area she had chosen to hunt in. Sabel was convinced that if she could know her location like the back of her paw, she could not fail in locating her prey. It somewhat worked. Within a couple large, springy bounds, Sabel's pale bodice was upon her unsuspecting prey whose inevitable death was cause by the lynx's sharp teeth.
The rabbit had been malnourished, but it was a feat for the blind cat to achieve nonetheless. Note smirked, prancing a few feet away to let Sabel revel in her successful hunt. Maybe she didn't need him as much as Note had originally thought.

Contrary to her normal actions, Elsa began to walk more places. Flying had always left her looking from above, but all the details she began to miss. Like the face of an occasional passerby, the detailed flower blooming along the trails, and the way the earth compacted beneath her feet. All were minor things really, but that’s why she began to branch out from the Falls. She had a place to go back and work for, but now she had more time to settle down and explore.
Really explore. Like, figure out who she is, what her purpose in life is, and how to better deal with her crazy butt emotions. The last time she had let them get wound to tight, she snapped all over poor Abishia, and it was something she would never forget. It was ingrained into her memory with a hot iron. She had become the idiotic, wailing, self-loathing creature that people hated to give pity too, yet Abishia still had stayed. It was the first time she knew that she was safe, knew that she was on her way to recovering some sort of her sanity.
Only twice had she made the mistake to break in front of others, once in front of Abishia, and once again in front of a stallion named Note, and his lynx, Sabel. Both times she had not been ignored, and it gave her a rekindled hope that somewhere in this world someone would actually want to be with her. Not just in a friend way, but maybe something a little bit more. You know, the bow chicka a bow wow stuff.
All of her musing had left her moving straight south, into the deep forest where she resided for no more than a season. This had been the place of the Asylum, the first people to embrace her for what she truly was. Although her time here was brief, she felt an odd comfort in the way the pines swayed and creaked, as if rejoicing her return. The friendly rustle of mammalian creatures caught her attention every now in then. They seemed to come from now where, moving in the branches, to rustling in the underbrush. She smiled; content to be back where everything had begun.
Another set of rustling caught her attention, this one heavier than the rest. Elsa moved cautiously towards it, lifting a nose to taste the air. It was no doubt that of a stallion, coupled with a distinct cat-like smell. Was Note and Sabel meandering around here? Surly he was off doing something more exciting right?
Either way she wasn’t going to let the opportunity go un-explored. Her body pushed through a few sets of growth before a familiar Pegasus outline had appeared before her. The bay, looming body left nothing to be questioned, it was Note. And by the smell of it, his companion was sure to be nearby elsewhere. Elsa offered a smile coupled with an apologetic nod. "I'm sorry for my craziness a little earlier, I promise i'm stable now." She said quietly, shuffling her feet nervously. Did she actually still have control? Or was this a temporary thing, because she had just recently let it all out? "Anyways, so for intruding on your day, but I wanted to thank you for that. You made me realize I was being kind of an idiot." She smiled. It was was true, Note had given her a reason to learn to control, and mold the gift she had. Him and his flaming wings had been more convincing, and she was working on controlling it more. I mean, look where it got her, she's now a Mason for crying out loud! It was the biggest accomplishment she had achieved in months. "Do you wish for company, or shall I leave you be?" She asked timidly. Elsa didn't want to be alone, ever, but she respected the distance some horses wanted.
The bay flicked an ear over to a slow, gentle sound of rustling, moments after, a mare appeared. But this was no ordinary mare. She looked familiar, smelled somewhat familiar. More earthy this time. Her figurine was ivory, a snowflake upon her shoulder...Elsa, it was Elsa. The last time he had encountered the mare, she had just about coated the Pit in snow and ice. It was pretty. Pretty and dangerous.
Note took a step back, picking his head up, brow furrowed and eyes focused, wondering what she would want from him. She smiled.
Smiles were nice. He didn't know if he was in the mood for nice today. Or any day; especially when coupled with a death trap.
He eyed her nod, listened to her words, relaxing slightly. She seemed just about as nervous as he was perturbed. Note flicked his tail back and forth, ridding his features of any signs of emotion.
She smiled, thanked him, and admitted her idiocy. Note stifled a laugh. Hell yeah she was being an idiot.
'Play nice,' Sabel's voice was mocking. The bay flicked an ear back, silently looking for the slender bodice of his companion. Even when she wasn't there, she was there. It was as if he could feel her taunting purr of amusement. It aggravated him more than anything else in the world, but held back his sneer and scorning words. "No problem. Anyone could have done the same that day," Note tried to sound as nice as possible, the smallest smile tugging at his lips as he choked out the words. The smallest hints of flames rolled off the ends of his wings, a subtle hint at his discomfort. Then again, the faux flames appeared when he was joyful, sad, angered..
Then she asked to stay. Note flicked his ears back, hesitating. 'Play nice, play nice, play nice...' the bay sourly reminded himself. Why in the world did he of all horses get stuck with the nice companion? "I - uh, you can stay, if you want," Note stammered, letting his head drop and sharp green flitter away from the mare. Even though he had seen her a state that was probably rare for other horses to behold, he felt like a stranger.
Was that normal?
It wasn't as if their encounter had been normal anyways, therefor, it didn't happen to matter.

The air was tense that was for sure. Elsa could feel the emotions, the meeting, the… pretty much everything was on a thin wire. For a moment, she worried it was going to snap and then she could be fighting another random, unneeded fight. She waited a moment for his reactions, only noticing, slight, odd movements of his body. An ear flickered, as if listening to a voice she could not hear. He finally spoke, and her muscles relaxed. The usually taught, white skin smoothed over the muscle lines, giving her usual, toned body a chance to relax.
His voice though, still seemed strained, though he did offer a small, almost smug looking smile. Tiny movement caught her eye at the tips of his wings, but as quickly as the movement had come, it left. Elsa had no idea what was going on, so she only offered a shy smile. It spread a bit bigger as he allowed her company to remain with him. It was not often that one willingly wanted her presence, most of the time it was just “business”. It was nothing else, nothing less.
A few moments passed in her mind, more than she had wanted as she began to think. The words, that usually flowed quite easily, were stuck in her head. It was as if someone put a jammer to her electrical circuit. She lowered her head to graze on the small patch of grass that was one of many that peppered the ground. It was hard to find the proper words to say, what does one say to someone that didn’t completely shut her out? It seemed that the only words that she could muster sounded crazy. Not that she had anything really to loose, most just shut her out.
She lifted her head, and offered a sheepish smile. Literally, Elsa had never been in a more awkward conversation in her life. Scratch that, it was the most awkward moment that anyone in the history of time could’ve had. "So, I figure I might as well get to know you?" The statement ended in an inflection that sounded more like a question. Why was she so damn soft right now? Generally she could be firm in her statements. "So, what are you like, exactly. Not like, specie-wise, but like, personality-what do you do for fun?" She added quickly, still unimpressed by her conversational ability. Yet, she wouldn't, and couldn't apologize. There was no way she was going to look even weaker and stupider in front of him than she already had.
