"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Everything was falling into place, and Sorrow knew that only the gods could arrange such a thing. She walked and she searched for the man known as her father, a face she hadn’t seen in many seasons. A familiar scent washed over her nostrils as she approached a foreign place, one that brought many memories. Surely this place was the one she sought, for only one carried such a scent. While the Giantess continued to walk, she noted a foreign structure before her. A loud gasp passed from her lips and she ran toward it. Light of spring poured in through the stained glass above her dropping down a cascade of light and color.
”Beautiful” She said softly to herself. Her eyes took in every detail of the place around her and she walked up toward one of the pillars and pressed her massive weight against it. For a moment she pondered if this place was some kind of shrine to a god and a bit of fright struck her at such a thought, for she had no offering for a god at the moment. It would be strenuous work to find something to kill and offer up to the foreign gods of this land, especially when she knew not what type of sacrifice they preferred. With a shrug of her shoulders, she moved on from such thoughts. There was a father to look for, not god’s to worship.
The scent of her father lingered in the air, perhaps he was nearby. It wouldn’t hurt to wait for a bit of time would it? If the gods intended for her to find him, it would in their time not hers. Sorrow hummed to herself as she found a patch of grass to dine upon, her mind lost in songs and stories of pasts long ago.

The scent that reaches him is one he remembers so vividly - a child that, unlike some, that he definitely remembers siring.
The dam's name was Crow, and she was one of his finest warriors. Massive and powerful, albeit slightly strange, and their daughter had been an impressive creature of proportions larger even than Tyradon's. To detect her aroma on the wind sets his heart to beating excitedly, already thinking through all the things he still had to teach her, how useful she could be in the greedy hooves of the Regime. He abandons his grazing and begins to move at a steady trot across the lush ground, massive hooves eating up the distance between them. Cynder flies nearby, dodging trees and bending athletically through the undergrowth as she follows her bonded's headlong path towards his child.
Finally he sees her; as massive as ever, sampling the grasses of the Rotunda. He takes a moment to examine her, noting the fact that she is now actually larger than he - a brute of a woman, and with the strength of his blood running through her veins. The beast slows his progress and moves to her at a walk, his gargantuan frame blending between the shadows of the trees as he eventually draws to a halt. "Sorrow," he rumbles, silver gaze darting across her impressive frame. Cynder lands on his rump with a painful thud of claws, and clambers up his neck to his head so she can chirp her own greeting to the once-filly that she watched grow up. "It is good to see you." And it is - generally he favours his sons, but how can he object to such a fine specimen of a daughter?
A familiar scent wafted in the air, and it grew stronger. Sorrow’s head shot up before she had even finished her mouthful. With the familiar scent came a familiar scent and voice that sent a wave of maddening excitement, especially at the sound of her own name being spoken. A grin broke over her lips and her ear perked all the way forward. As the dragon chirped at her she found her words completely gone, it was as if she had been placed before a crowd.
“Pa,” Sorrow said as she finally grasped her words, her voice no higher than a whisper. “It’s good to see you to. And you Cynder.” She said dipping her head them both. There was the temptation to get sentimental, but she knew better than to do that in front of her father. He hadn’t raised her to be a softhearted maiden, she was made to be a well greased machine of war, besides, her body wasn’t built to be a damsel in distress, she was destined to be a warlord that saved the pretty women not the one to be saved. Sorrow was content in the role of knight over dainty lady, of course she had spent much of her childhood tormenting over her lack of feminine curves and petite build, but now she saw herself as a deadly beast and beauty mattered little.
Thousands of questions were spiraling through her mind, more than would be appropriate to be asked in one conversation, or so her mother would say. The Giantess sifted through the questions, throwing out the petty ones, but holding on to the ones that simply must be answered.
“What have you been up to in this strange place?” She asked her massive head cocking slightly to the left. “Surely whatever it is I can be of assistance. Nomadic life was good fun, but I’m ready to fight again.” The glint in her eyes shifted from excited to a slight a gleeful malice, twisted and bright. Much had changed with the girl’s body, but her mind and soul were much the same and her father’s foul beliefs had been grounded into her mind. “I noticed there were unicorns in this land, I found one in the Threshold… It didn’t last much longer after that.” The blood from her kill had long since washed off, but the memory was still fresh in her mind and she so hoped it would only be the beginning of her career in this new place.
