Spring, the season of life and rebirth from the dead of winter. It was finally here, shining its light upon the lands, the edge was alive. Full of animals birthing their young from the mirror of the fall season activities, the hills were indeed breathing with life this morn as the skies above beamed a vibrant turquoise. There of course were white tufts of clouds here and there, but not enough to warn to the sign of rain.

The light breeze beat down upon the onyx demons chest. Muscles rippling under scared skin, as the winter coat had faded away ready for the heat of late spring and summer. Even for his age, he did appear to be fairly healthy, save for a few bruises here and there from the caves months ago. He had come so far in his life time, once a man of war and destruction now breeding life into Helovia, raising Cowboy and now having subdued Quinn, he would once again be a father to a newborn child.

Oh the idea of screaming children, it made him shudder.

But none-the-less the tamed demon was in fact rather excited about his spawn. What would it look like? Male or female? Oh the possibilities were endless. Although all he could want was nothing more than a healthy child, he did secretly hope for a son. To be the blood carrier of his lineage, but he supposed a daughter wouldn’t be too bad either. Nyx had turned out to be a fine young mare, since that dark day with the demon he had to kill within her.. it was her that he should thank for awakening this life within himself.

Perhaps it was true; Darkness brings out the best in us.

Crimson pools beamed of life and vibrancy. He danced upon the hills, gazing around to see if he could find his pregnant mare waddling around amongst the lush green upon the horizon. The pale faced mare, the one who he never thought would live to see her fifth year, was now oddly enough the dam of his future son! Err- well.. Future Child...

Massive black hooves thump upon the blades of emerald as he nears a creek. A soft summoning call rumbled from his chest and poured like liquid from his lips. "Quinn!" His tone wasn’t harsh, if but a playful one. It had been a while since their ‘night on the town’ and he wanted to check on her tubby belly. A sly grin laced his lips as he remembered her nickname for him.

She wasn’t calling him ‘Tiny” after that.

War does not determine who is right -
only who is left.

She was BIG! No, big was an understatement, as she felt like a whale wobbling around to get food and water. It was not like she had not seen pregnant mares before, but because her frame was so slender, the unborn foal really pushed her out in all directions. And let's not forget about all the peeing and loss of breath in the last few days.

But all in all, it was the best thing that could have happened to her. The mare felt reborn and alive with this life growing inside of her. And the best thing was, that now she had someone to rely on. Nato had been all over the place (or so it seemed), as she herself had not been able to leave her new home. She had a job to do, she thought as she stood on the creek and cooled down her feet. Her only priority was to bring this soul into the world and give it the best chance possible to surive. She could do that, as she knew everything about survival.

When her name was called, she raised her head and held it up on her still so slender neck. His frame was not difficult to spot, even when the snow was gone. "I am here." she answered and turned slightly towards him. "And yes, I am still fat as a cow." The last thing she said with a laugh, as she knew too well how her body had changed.
