Minor herd tasks had been set aside for the greater one at hoof, the call of a Goddess and the lure of power sending her out of the confines of her mountain home and out into the wilds. Her head is held proudly high upon a finely arched neck, her golden laced frame a sleek machine of grace and strength as she crosses down the heavily travelled paths that link each piece of Helovia into a whole. Southward she sweeps, knowing there are few she will encounter in the mountains or the northern tundra that she does not already know by name and deed, each chain linking together to form the carefully calculated line of her life.

How many times has she pondered the binds of her existence, to where her path will wind and come to an end? On her more foolish days, she hopes that it will never be so, that she can ride the horizon into the heart of the sun, living with her dark cross barring her soul to see the end of days bloom into fruition; to see the world burn down around her, she a silent witness to the fall of mortals, rising with the Gods bound to their spirits upwards into the endless spiral of the heavens. What is it that the Moon sees when she looks down on them all? Does she see their beauty, their bountiful grace and endless imperfections, or does she see only the dark lines that grip into their hearts, the sins painting their eyes dark and void?

She thinks it is perhaps the latter. The Goddess does not love her even though she is merely broken, cannot forgive her for what she has done out of spite for the splinters in her heart, and Illynx finds that she does not truly care either way, now that the chance for greatness has been given to her despite the Night Queen’s sourness towards the Gilded Blade and her rancorous kin. It is an odd sensation, to know that her mother will never love her or grant her blessings without a price, and to not be broken as she has been in past moments; rather, she feels an insidious desire to fulfill the duties cast to her and to spit her rage into the face of the Moon as she scalds every leaf from every branch in her damnable forest.

These thoughts chase her innocence that remains, the careless fantasies of a child forced to age before her time and becoming encased in glass within the heart of a monster; such a strange mind, this woman of ice and explosives, one that wanders down the hallways of fantasy and fancy and then barges down into the pits of vengeance and malevolence with little warning. She maintains a façade of control despite the utter lack of it within herself; she seeks to hold the reins and hope they drag her down the correct path.

Even if they don’t, the ride will at least be fun. She’ll make sure of it.

Rising from her thoughts, she finds herself deep in the grasp of the tall, ancient wood of the ruby pool and the old tree that watches over his children. She can see his towering boughs just west of her, though she refrains from going to visit the small, clear pool, knowing that others tend to gather there in large numbers from time to time and truly wishing to only find someone to help her gain her magic. From her experiences with the odd path of fate in this land, it is best to avoid where one normally found others in plenty; who we were meant to have were discovered wandering alone, and lonesome as you yourself are.

Not that she will truly admit to this, at least not now that she has contained her bruised spirit well enough in the absence of Psyche to once again wear her flawless mask.

It won’t ever slip again.

It won’t.

Why was this so difficult!! Flashing her tail sharply against her sides in sheer frustration the stinging burn was the only result of the white mare’s numerous attempts to create fire. Somehow she had managed to light herself on fire before without causing herself any harm but did you think that she could do it again? Pinning her ears back she paced back and forth a few steps trying to collect her thoughts of what all she had gathered about magic. According to others she had been told that there was ways to will the magic to obey your command, so far all she had managed to do was singe a small part of her mane. Stopping beside one of the giant trees she turned her head into the tree pressing her forehead against the bark. Think, think, think. What was she missing? There had to be something.

The last time she had managed to use her magic was a sheer coincidence that happened at random. She had woken up from a nightmare to find herself covered head to hoof in blue flames. It never burned her skin or caused any other harm but she had no idea what it was capable of doing to anyone else or any other objects. With her luck if she ever got close to someone the flames would appear and burn them, just what she needed to make her life any more complicated than it already was. Her thoughts drifted back to the intimate moment she had shared recently with the black horned stallion. Thank god she had not burned him, which would have just been... embarrassing beyond belief and horribly painful for him. Cringing at the thought she did have to chuckle at the rather amusing mental image of the after effects, she would not wish that on anyone but there were those few individuals that more than deserved it.

Taking a breath now that she had calmed herself down slightly she tried to focus on what she wanted to accomplish. She had tried earlier commenting what she wanted out loud hoping that something would happen but she only succeeded in sounding like a mentally unstable idiot walking around yelling fire. Anyone who would have happened upon that scene would have likely walked as far away from her as possible. As if she already didn't have enough troublesome encounters with strangers, now there might be those around thinking she was a few screws short of a light bulb. Snorting she closed her eyes, ok focus. Fire…flames…? What else did you think about when you wanted to light yourself on fire?

She keeps walking into the heart of the dark forest on the alert for the presence of others, not really sure how to find someone as the Moon had asked without stalking heavily the character in question first or simply walking in on someone utilizing flame magic. Why her mother had given her a quest more suitable to have come from the lips of her flaming brother was lost on Illynx, adding to her usual borderline pestilence an extra ring of annoyance that she was forced so far from her kin to go on an Easter egg hunt. Her ears lay partly back in agitation, dark tail viciously slashing at the air each time it moves to swat an insect that dallies too close to her pelt, dappling the surface of her flesh with raised dimples from the impacts of the strands of black hair.

A series of sounds before her in a branch of the woods yet revealed to her raises her spirits; that she hasn’t found a single soul in all this wandering is quite eased by the noises of a living creature, her muzzle tentatively tasting of the air to determine it is female, and alone, a smile gaining on her lips. She is quite the mystically minded thing, our Illynx, and believes that only fate could have delivered her such a pristine package surely marked, fire.

The Lady slips into the company of the pale equine woman with a glance and a lingering, almost stare on the fringes of her mane and forelock, the section that seems to be crispy as her own from her dabbling in this newfound electrical power of hers. It is curious, intriguing, inviting even, something that is a rare emotion in the face of the hornless, and for once in Illynx’s selfish life, she doesn’t think about killing or hurting the mare before she thinks about helping her.

Careful now, dear readers; I know it’s quite shocking.

It’s not that she really wants too, of course – just one more soft hearted equine fool thinking they were on par with such majestic queens as herself – but that she can sense this is a woman trying to learn to control a power, a power than can scald and melt away hair, leaving the tips blackened. All she can see when she looks at Brisa is herself wreathed in a holy blue flame so frigid that she could never be touched, and the desire is so savage that it beats her racist demeanors into unconsciousness for the time being.

"Practicing?" she asks with raised brows and a pleasant enough smile on her lips, tilting her head curiously at the white mare, having found no evidence of burned things around her to hint at the ability to summon a kamehameha or sudden blaze as many in this land could.

Many? her mind retorts with a sputtering laugh, and this is all we find?

"I can share some… insight with you," she goes on to suggest, her breath trailing out from her nostrils in white plumes, still naked frame gleaming (as she finds her armor in the season to come) beneath the scant light that filters down from above, gathering the strands of her will to pull several streaking blue tendrils of current up the golden length of her horn, zapping and crackling in the chilly air, "I gained this neat trick earlier this season." Turning quite suddenly to the left, she drives forward a pace and slides to a halt, a lightning bolt streaking quite suddenly from the gathered energies along her blade; the crack of the impact echoes through the wood, the tree she had chosen to assault smoldering with a great fissure ruptured into its trunk. She’d been careful not to damage the poor thing enough to come crashing down on top of them for the moment, of course – but she also doubted it would live another season after such a terrible attack.

She returns her eyes with a fiercely proud gleam within their depths to the stranger she has found, eager to learn what sort of things this one was capable of and hoping it rhymed with aspire.

Air flows into the mare's lungs satisfying her body's demands for oxygen, wait a minute.. oxygen is needed for fire.. The thought crosses her mind at random succeeding at once again distracting her adventurous mind from the task at hand. There was no way that her breathing could affect the ability to light herself up could it? Pondering on the idea for a moment longer she finally shakes her head not being able to find a connection between anything worthwhile. Dammit, why was her focus so easily being distracted today? Focus!!

Grinding her teeth together she tried to channel her thoughts, streamlining them towards the goal of creating fire. Now as long as she didn't wind up burning herself again she might actually figure this thing out...well eventually. Then again could it be possible to be gifted with magic but wind up totally failing at learning how to control it? If it were possible leave it to her to be the first living creature to actually fail at more than just life itself. A chuckle came to her throat at the thought but she crushed it back down making it sound more like a gagging noise. She was capable of laughing at herself, she did it quite regularly in fact right now she just didn't need to let herself become distracted again. Closing her eyes again she tried to clear her mind of everything but what she wanted to accomplish.

The feminine voice comes out of no where causing her to nearly jump out of her skin with surprise, she had not expected anyone to come up here. Whipping her head around to face the source of the voice the blue flickering catches her attention immediately drawing her eyes. Fire!! Oh wait she had been trying to accomplish this. As soon as the thought appears the blue flame coating her skin disappears in the same instance like it was never there in the first place. A soft groan of frustration escapes her maw as her eyes once again snap up to the unicorn standing nearby staring at her with a rather smug looking expression on her face. Biting back the first comment she forced herself to offer a small shrug instead of the rather rude comment that had come to mind. Before she manages to draw words to her lips to respond more lyrics accompany the first and she finds herself strangely intrigued.

"Insight?" She questions tilting her head ever so slightly. What information could this one have to offer her? The explanation continued onwards before she proceeds into a rather electrifying demonstration nearly severing a nearby tree. Taking hesitant step back the first thought that comes to mind is the rather explosive encounter she had with Ampere not all that long ago. Somehow this didn't seem like the best idea to be accepting help from this strange mare but her own curiosity was drawing the better of the decision. This mare had figured out how to control her magic, but why was she volunteering to help her? What did she expect in return? Was it possible for someone to just offer to help out of kindness?

Meeting the mare's gaze with hesitance her ears flick back trying to weigh her options. It was either go along with the flow of things and risk the chance of getting electrified or decline and likely face electrocution. Her plans had not involved being fried to a bbq crisp like the remainder of the tree so there really was one option that seemed logical. "What kind of insight are you talking about?" Her voice is curious yet her tone slightly guarded. She knows all too well not to trust anyone unless there is a reason to trust them, this mare was no different and just slightly more intimidating with her lightning capabilities.

The mare is startled by her unwelcomed approach, a flickering moment dousing the entire grey figure of the woman in blue fire that danced and writhed upon her spine before disintegrating into the air. It is Illynx’s turn to broaden her eyes in surprise, though rather than anxious fear it is good humor and delight that lances its way across her features, the smug Lady all the more full of her own ego as she discovers that fate, once again, has led her down the right path.

She barely restrains her dancing laughter of delight, so pleased is the Lady, and all the more pleased when the woman takes the bait dangled in front of her.

A rim of giggles breaks the monotonous crackling of the fried wood as she tosses a dark forelock from her gaze and returns gleaming golden orbs to the fire baring stranger. Perhaps the laughter comes across as one of mockery that the pale woman has stepped back as the volatile bolts lashed forth from her horn, but it is truly only a bliss born from her luck in finding one to suit her purposes and the power that she has already been blessed with. The Lady Illynx likes being dangerous, she gloats and feeds on the way the other mare watches her magic demolish the side of the tree, swims in a sea of enthusiasm for the way the day has flown thus far.

Her question is met by the same friendly smile that disguises the hidden disgust for the hornless creature, her desire to win the prize promised to her by the Moon greater than her desire to decorate her home in the pale strands of this ones mane. Like the wise and benevolent queen that she is, she offers her assistance to the stranger, proud of herself for participating in a mingling moment with a lesser species in which she is not mauling but rather bringing aid to the poor, wretched soul. "Well, no offense love, but you seem to be having some trouble getting your skin to light up as you’d like it to," she implies that she knows what magic the other woman is trying to use, her golden eyes gleaming in time with the mocking voices that jab and prod at the stupid equine mare within her head, though she lets none of their insidious whispers bleed onto her welcoming and kind face.

It is only a mask, but our Lady is the queen of the Masquerade, each particle of her guise painted with masterful hands and fitted to perfectly cover the true horror of her face.

"What… what does it feel like, when it works?" she asks, for multiple purposes; the magic is so similar to what she has asked the Moon for that its too tempting not to ask, and also that it will help her guide the other woman to utilize her will to bring the flames to life. Even if it is an emotional response, which is plausible, the mind can induce similar sensations through the body as fear and melancholy with only a thought, if ones thought was strong enough. Perhaps her eyes burn hungrily as she ponders the nuances of the power, her closeness to holding it herself.

She’s more of the thought that the stranger struggles because she is trying too hard. It had been an accidental moment of aggravation in which Illynx had discovered her own powers, and it was only through the gentle memory of the way the currents felt when adequately controlled that helped her guide her strikes as she did. If she put too much thought into the process, things went awry; the short state of her forelock and upper mane speak volumes of this, patches of her mahogany face of shorter velvet than the rest though just barely so, enough time having passed between her time of learning and this time of growth to hide the failures she’d had at first from glancing eyes.

It was rather interesting what life would throw at you when you were least expecting it, take this mare for example. Her intended plan for the day was to attempt to figure out how to control this power of hers, not dealing with someone who could very well kill or electrocute her. It was just something about her that didn't sit right somehow, there was something behind her shell but what was the question.

Flicking her ears back in mild annoyance at the golden mares initial comment she managed to stop herself rolling her eyes at her. She would never have guessed that she was having trouble, that much was plain as day to see. Anyone who couldn't see that would have to be blind, no actually even the blind might be able to figure it out with her random frustrated fits from time to time. It would be hard to miss someone stomping around and taking her annoyance out on the odd tree here and there.

The next set of lyrics that left her mouth were ones that at first were confusing but maybe made a little sense the more she thought about it. The power had been with her but a short time so it was hard to pin point what it really felt like. The first time she had thought she had completely lost her mind when she awoke to find blue flames licking at her skin. As she came around to realize it wasn't her mind making all of it up she had a mild panic attack at the whole fact of her being on fire. The second time she had managed to feel the grip of the fire was only a moment or two ago when the mare had appeared unexpectedly.

Furrowing her brow slightly as her mind tried to pull some answers from the two episodes the only thing she could remember feeling was warmth but not burning and maybe fear. "Its hard to explain what it feels like." She said finally pausing for a moment. "I guess it kind of feels warm yet cold at the same time. Its only happened twice and for short periods of time the first time I woke up to find it."

As with most who come into her company, even when she wears as sweet a guise as this one, the other in her vicinity is distrustful of the golden stranger. Illynx is used to such things; her entire life she had been marked as something dangerous and wicked, something that seemed to have seeped into her pores over time and truly became who she was rather than who others said she might be.

As is usually true with the “take no offense,” commentary, just the opposite of her request occurs; she watches the way the other woman’s ears casually flit backwards in annoyance, the fine creases of her face folding in dislike of the mocking tone the Lady had used upon her. It’s quite fine by the Golden Bitch that the grey one thinks she’s an atrocious snob – it’s only the truth, after all, and there were few worries in the mares head as to her ability to beat down the wandering, inept magic user other than who all she counted as friend.

The mare herself was as dangerous as a newborn rabbit.

She lends her voice to the silence, watching as the mare ponders the question that has been presented to her and Illynx never loosing an ounce of her enthusiastic stare as she waits for the answer.

Warm yet cold, she thinks, a soft smile framing the corners of her mouth as she absorbs the information given to her. A periodical magic, one that lasts for brief periods and was first discovered, she assumes, after a dream.

What sort of dream, though?

It was likely that the magic was either one activated by emotional response, the Lady recalling her entrance into the clearing and the way that the flames had flared along the other woman for a brief second, almost as if regaining her breath had allowed the soft hearted equine to cleanse herself of the mystic fire. Her gentle grin blooms into a deep smile, one that gleams with only the slightest bit of lustful intent as she turns her eyes fully onto her temporary student.

"Did you happen to have a night terror just before, that first time?" she asks knowingly, a brow arcing playfully on her charming face.

The golden mare's answer bordered along predictable with what she had seen so far of her, she seemed to like to pick at details especially those with deeper meanings. Mildly annoying yes but she was also smart, if she was going to outwit her she would have to be just as quick if not quicker than she was at the mind games. It was doubtful that she could succeed but you never knew unless you tried right, maybe it would help her get out of this in one piece should the mare tire of this game prematurely. A dream, a nightmare what difference did it really make? Would she know if she decided to deny that fact? Maybe but there was that part of her that wanted to learn to master her ability and so far this mare gave the only offering.

Her mind flipped through her scattered memories trying to pull information from anything of relevance before she spoke, if she could manage to find whatever key there was to her magic she could decide whether or not to share it. Yet had she not been doing this for weeks without success?

Fear had been a key emotion in the first two episodes but wait there was more, more that she had not thought about until now. It had been recently that she had another encounter with the dark stallion, he had accused her of many things especially whoring around after their first encounter. The anger and hurt that had come from those comments had triggered her magic as well, it had burned brightly in response feeding off the fuel that the stallion gave it. Damn the bastard for not realizing that he could have very well caused the very pregnancy she found herself in, it was hard to know for certain as there had been one other around the same time that had defiled her. The fire burned through out her veins with the thought, if only she had known how to control her magic she could have made sure they could no longer wave their flags around.

The image brought her much amusement but in a way she was trying to figure out what had spurred such vile thoughts. "A nightmare..yes that first night there was." She commented her eyes refocusing on those of the unicorn before her. Maybe the key to all this was to think about things differently, see things through another's eyes, become the one making the decisions.

"I see," says the Gilded Blade.

She’s abrasive with her knowledge and her haughtiness, she knows these things even without watching the reactions teem across the other woman and she honestly doesn’t give half a shit what the grey thinks of her. She’s got what she wanted out of the ordeal, how the fire feels and how it works, while the woman opposite her had only deluded questions that danced around the truth of her power. The golden bitch does what she does now out of kindness, some twisted sense of obligation that bids her to complete the lesson and gain the last fragment of knowledge there is left to grasp from the other woman, her smile twisted and quite self pleased with Brisa’s agreement that there had been a nightmare that first encounter with her magic.

Now, to test her theory; that grin grows more lurid as the plot forms in her mind, as muscles tense and a growling bark escapes her lips as she lowers her crown and angles the tip of her sword right at the hornless female, driving forward hard and fierce.

It was not an actual attack, rather one to provoke what she felt was the source of the blooming flames; if the dream mentioned and her earlier arrival were any precursor to its reasons for existence, the fire was born from fear or the need to defend herself. Illynx simply gave her something to defend against, her laughter chaotic as she pulls away from the woman after her quick barrage. She is of course careful to not actually hurt the dear – it wouldn’t serve her any purpose in this situation.

Hoping to turn about to find the grey mare wreathed in flame, she quickly explains herself. "Fear," slips one word from grinning lips, followed by others, "I think that’s where your power comes from."

Magic was such a broad topic of conversation when it was told to one without much knowledge, each little topic only blossomed into many other much broader ones that never seemed to end. Throughout the short conversation that she had carried out with the golden unicorn there really was not a lot she had learned from the whole ordeal other than she could likely kill her in an instant without so much as a second thought. She would really hate to get on this mare's bad side, the thought of what she could do to her enemies was scary yet in a deranged sort of way amusing if you were on the same side.

She had heard other talk about the different types of magic such as active and passive but what she didn't know was which category hers would fall into. Since she seemed to lack the ability to control it would it be passive? or maybe she was just missing the key details that allowed her to control it like Illynx was suggesting. She would have to see if she could find others with magic that may be a little less, hmmm how shall we put it... intimidating to help her learn more. Mauja had displayed his magic before, maybe he would consider lending her some information that may be of use. Semi lost in her careful consideration she had forgotten to pay close attention to the ones who just might try to kill you, now she found herself standing there like an idiot with a charging mare coming straight towards her with her weapon aimed.

Reacting was never exactly one of her strong skills when it came to things like this, it was quite common for fear to paralyze her limbs leaving her immobile. Well needless to say good old fear happened to entrap her immediate mind leaving her to have a rather delayed reaction to the situation. Pinning her ears back to her skull she managed a half rear with her pudgy belly just as the gold mare came careening past her, veering off at the last second. Well if she had attempted to prove a point she had considering her skin burned intensely with angry blue and white flames but what came next left her in complete shock.

A flash of light burst forth from her with a resounding crack as what looked to be blue lightning hit the ground right where Illynx would have been only seconds before. At the point of contact lay a large strip of blackened earth surrounded by a much similar flame that lit her body. Eyes wide in disbelief she turned to survey what had just happened in full, what had just happened anyway? Where had that come from? She had never been able to do that before! Blue eyes move over to see Illynx's smug smile just as she finishes her explained theory, her own face was likely that of confusion, anger and utter disbelief. "I.. what the hell was that?!" She stated her ears still pinned back. In reality she wasn't sure if she was asking about the unprovoked fake attack or the crazy fiery light thing, maybe both.

The Golden Lady darts away from the explosion so near to her with a laugh ringing from her lips, dark hair splaying against the wind as her crown twists back around towards Brisa, her frame following in line. A smile is slipped broad across her lips as she spies the last dying flickers of blue white light, wondering what had happened this time; there hadn’t been crackling light the first time, that was for sure, and she looks to the pale woman with questions unanswered clinging to the burning depths of her eyes. Tilting her head as she watches pure confusion race across the face of the dappled femme, aggravated slightly that she obviously has no answers either but letting none of it dismay her, for she has seen what magic this one has and it is so close to what she desires in her dark heart that it almost makes her salivate.

She laughs again at the sputtered question, shaking her head in humor as her dark rimmed ears fall to either side of her head in the richness of the vapid nature of this ones mind. "How am I to know? It's your power," she manages through the rising of her laughter. Maybe it comes across as mocking, but why would she care about that? It didn’t take a genius to look at the two women present to know that the golden bitch was far superior to this one, and as with anyone who is greater than another, she enjoys rubbing her grandness in the face of her inferiors.

Either way, she has what she wants from the fat white mare; she’s seen the magic and she understands that it works off of emotional impulse, and that is all she needs or cares about. The rest is all a game to her.

"It seems the fire comes from fear. It’s possible other deep emotions – love, elation, devastation – might rouse it within you. Be aware of this in your life," she states once she’s done giggling, seriousness rising into her ever changing, fluid features as she returns to the lesson she knows something about without having to rack her brain any further than she has for the duration of this conversation, "lest you harm someone you care for or cannot defend against on accident."

By the time the golden lady speaks again it is through fits of laughter, apparently at something she did? What in the hell did she want with her!? A magic demonstration or something? Taking a breath she tried to re-picture the scene only moments ago, where had the lightning come from? It was certainly not from her as she had been gifted with magic that controlled flame not electricity, but Note... The realization of what actually happened dawned on her, was that even possible? Could it be that her unborn child had somehow created that trying to protect her? Well whatever it had been it sure had done something to the ground where it impacted, looking over to it the flames were still smoldering.

Slowly coming out of her dazed stupor she realized that the mare was now refocused on her grinning like a cheshire cat, mocking her. Well with her knew found slice of information she had one leg up on her this time, maybe she should leave her to ponder the source of the lightning alone. Ha it would serve her right trying to play her to suit her purposes. Her own version of a smirk lit up her own expression as she met the golden's eyes with her own blue. "That was not my power, I have control of flame nothing more." She stated simply flicking her tail in self amusement.

The bitch wasn't done speaking yet though as once again her lyrics sounded across the short distance between them. Emotions ya ya, she figured that much out but it was what came next that darkened the pale mares attitude. Hurt someone she cared about? She would never do that! " I am not like you, I would never hurt someone I cared about!" She stated pinning her ears back angrily. If this mare thought she knew her, she was sadly mistaken for she was not some cold hearted witch who enjoyed terrorizing people. Things had begun to click into place, now she knew why the Basin had such a reputation, it was thanks to individuals like this.

"Mm," she retorts dryly to the dapple’s commentary on the bolt of light and subsequent fire that had scalded the earth; Illynx didn’t give a damn if a magical monkey in a wizard’s hat was truly the source of the power, hidden somewhere in the bushes.

She had what she wanted from the other mare as far as her questing was concerned, and already had her own grand power of electricity with which to feel proud of herself; that the woman hadn’t been sure where the one power had come from or how her other had even worked left Illynx feeling quite humored at the notion that the ignorant, pale woman was making attempts to seem wise and more knowledgeable than she.

It’s not worth my time to ponder where the magic you cannot control comes from, she wants to add, but refrains, letting her next words rise and hearing the sputtering aroused from the not so smart girl’s mouth with a hefty laugh and a gleaming white smile. Her pretty head shakes back and forth in her feigned mirth, the sound of her vocals mocking and cruel as she eases herself into a state of communication once more, blinking her eyes exaggeratedly to clear them of the tears born in her giggles; that she has to explain even this to the idiot makes her understand just how desperately gifted she is in this life.

"Oh, no, no, no, you stupid cow," she barely manages, still chortling along her sides and her breath ragged from the longevity of her outburst, "it’s nothing to do with the color of your soul." Pausing, with a momentary thought to just leave her with only that, she searches within herself for a suitable metaphor that will click within the ruminations of even this one. "A river is strong, boundlessly flowing, and it can be peaceful, a resource necessary for life. But if you are not careful while crossing, it can sweep you under, you might slip and drown, and it does not chose its victims based on the goodness or wickedness they have brought into the world; it does not mean you cannot drink from it any longer, or that you must fear it. It only means you must respect the river for what it can both give and take," slyly and mostly subdued in her giddiness, she looks upon the pale woman with narrowed eyes that reveal glittering, golden orbs, "but you’re right. I’m not like you."

"I would appreciate someone teaching me how to swim. Call me a witch all you wish," she turns to leave, glancing over her shoulder at the foolish one in the woods, the one who taught her that fire revolves around the pace and fluctuations of the heart (such a wretched thing, this muscle), "I am still a witch who helped you."

Normally it took quite a lot to get under the grey mares skin but this damn golden witch was doing a mighty fine job of it. What did she seriously expect after the mock attack, almost frying her to a shish kabob and all the trash that kept flowing out of her mouth? A thank you? Like really lets be honest with ourselves, that was not happening. She really must be more delusional than she had originally suspected if she thought that was a possibility.

Tempering her flared rage she could feel a burning deep down inside her soul. Like a buzzing insect trying to free itself and release its anger upon the world. Well this was interesting...where did this come from? What would happen if I were to reach for it?

As tempted as she was to find out what this mysterious gem buried within her soul was she resisted a moment longer as Illynx's voice drew her back to the present. What did she just call her? Had she heard her correctly? Whatever embers were left simmering below her plain of control were long gone now turned into a flaming frenzy of seriously ticked off mare. She had tried to be nice, she had tried to be polite but she was done with that. Reaching for the gem she grasped hold of it feeling its power soak through her veins engulfing her skin in a thick layer of blue flames just waiting to fry something or perhaps someone would be a better theory. Snorting with amusement she turned her icy glare back to the golden witch, maybe she did owe her a thank you after all. If it wasn't for her she might never have found a reason to expose the full extent of her magic.

It was when she tapped into her strongest emotions that she found the most control, she actually liked the feeling on some odd level. Did that make her maybe a tad power hungry? Nah just someone who could finally deal with the many pests lurking around, it was satisfaction. " I do appreciate the help but you did not teach me to swim only a reason to dive deeper." She commented smugly. Sparks flared out around her hooves snapping loudly along with the crackling fire impressing even herself. She would have to have a conversation with Note not forewarning her that this could happen. Stupid stallions never thinking ahead to the possibilities of future problems.

" I would also suggest not putting words in my mouth. You are the one who called yourself a witch not me." Holding her gaze steady she focused on the power flowing through her veins and the feeling. Now all that was left was to figure out how to tap into these emotions on cue but that would be for another day. A loud crack of lightning sounded from halfway between the pair drawing her eyes to the electrified ice that lay shattered on the grass. This day was just getting stranger and stranger.
