every day the gods are flipping coins

She and the winged red beast appeared to have similar thoughts about this strange situation. The three of them had simply been searching for a way to get out of the rain, and perhaps it had been the rain that brought them together. Liit only thought that it was unfortunate that they had to share the shade with the seemingly anti-social and rather rude stallion, but she was thankful, at least, that the red mare had a good dose of sense to her.

What Delsolea says about the stallion calling himself High is accented by the stallion reaching into the little leather pouch that dangles from his shoulder and chewing at whatever he found in there. Narrowing her eyes, the small, pale mare stares at him for a moment, unsure of just what he was doing. For a moment she glances back towards the winged woman as if checking to make sure that she too saw what she was seeing, and still Delsolea makes another observation of the situation that seems to say exactly what Liit was thinking.

Shifting her weight, she was about to turn her gaze back towards the stallion, folding her ears back at what he had to say. Before she can comment on what the stallion has said or ask just what he had in his shoulder pouch, there was a black fluttering motion in front of her face, and she bolts a few, fast steps to one side, turning to see the pair of wings that flap towards her face. Not immediately seeing danger in what was coming after her, she drops her head and lifts it quickly, like shaking her head up and down to get rid of a nuisance, but instead hoping that her sharp horns might be enough to deter whatever it was that had set its sights on her face.

Normally, Liit would have found herself bolting out from under the tree to get away from things that she didn’t know or was unsure of, but the heavy thrum of the rain beyond the shelter of the tree was enough to deter her from making a run for it. Liit also imagined that becoming an acquaintance with the red mare would be worth the harassment from whatever it was that was fluttering around her face. For now, she just kept shaking her head up and down, her spiraled horns pointed towards the black wings.
