Where was Mirage, Madryn, Maskan, Amaris, and so many others who had not returned home. Stop being dark and brooding. Not pleasant. Aaron cut his eyes to his bonded. She was right. They may never come home. Stop that. He returned his attention to the small group at hand, listening as the dragon child, who wasn't really such a child anymore spoke. Just as he was about to ask about Kimber, Kaj arrived. The paint steed smiled slightly as the new King warmly greeted and welcomed the dragon child home. Truly, this is where Semira belonged. At least he hoped she felt at home. He had to admit, at times he no longer felt like the Edge was home. It was and yet it wasn't. This was the home he helped fight for. The home he had defended more than once. He had lost the rest of his blood family while living here. In that respect, he did feel like it was home. But then, his heart constantly ached for his family. His family that every tree and place within the Edge reminded him of them. It be okay. He glanced down to Alanna, who was sitting quietly at his side. Then the gap came, where he could finally ask the burning questions he needed to know. How is Smoke? Vikram? Kimber? He hid the catch in his voice as he spoke her name. Oh how he needed her back. He needed the one he could let see his vulnerable side. The side only Alanna saw.
