There was no plan, it was just me and Psyche having a bit of fun—I made you destroy your family on nothing more but a whim! And I kept doing it, because I could. And you let me." "You fucker..." "I'm going." The white stallion turned around and left me standing there, dumbstruck with tears swelling in my eyes. He... Did it... For fun. I continued to stare as he turned his head over his shoulder and for a second, I looked into his cold orbs. "I'm sorry, Delinne. I cannot help you." Nobody could help me. Nobody in this goddamn country. "You fucking asshole... I wish I had stayed in Dixtrod." I could just let him leave right now and never worry about him again and never see him as an equal like I had done earlier - but that wouldn't be me. That wouldn't be the Delinne I had grown up to become. Desperate to calm myself, I took a deep breath and inhaled the scent of the forest. It was becoming darker and the smell of woodland creatures filled my nostrils. A fox nearly tripped on a branch only a few meters away from me, mice ran behind me. I started to focus on Azzaron as I felt his soft feathers against my ears and sighed heavily. 'We'll meet soon again, my love. I promise. With that thought, my eyes fell on the Ki- No. He wasn't a King anymore. He was just a stallion. A pathetic, cold stallion. "You're pathetic. I shouldn't have started talking to you by the river because this... You hurt me for fun and I kind of liked it." I said, the tune of my voice was teasing and hateful at the same time. When had I become like this? Deep inside, I was still the kind and loyal Delinne I had been when I first came to Helovia, but... That was deep inside. What would've happened to my life if I had chosen.. What was her name? Xira? If I had chosen to follow her instead... "Why did you choose me to mess with? You could've chosen anyone - why me?" Suddenly, my voice was soft and broken, my head was hanging low and my black maw almost touched the ground. "I don't even know why I didn't try to rescue my family..." I whispered. This was why I had become insane. I couldn't deal with sadness, so I laughed it away instead. "I wasn't used to having a family that I loved... that loved me back." I fell to the ground again and without me hearing it, Dezba came out of the darkness and looked at me confused. 'Mother?' Without even looking up, I sighed heavily. 'Why can't I just die, Dezba? I closed my eyes and tried not to think about the stallion I had respected so much, who was walking away from me. "I just can't do anything right, can I?"
