But the notion was fleeting and my reasonable mind shifted into action, lids broke apart and crown rose from its humbled position to meet the curious gaze of my colead. “Good morning, Seele,” I rippled in return, a gentle smile creasing the corners of my war strained face, the tenors which greeted her were rich and noticeably free of morning husk that often deepened a man during his early hours of wakefulness. “How might I be of service?” It was unlikely that she’d seek my company simply for the sake of it; our last conversations had been fruitful, but strictly business related. I expected this interaction would harbor much the same. |
