Nasreen at her side gave the queen more confidence, more energy, and she moved forward eagerly. She was glad she had Nasreen here to translate, for she certainly understood little of what the handsome, misty stag was saying. But home... She turned with a curious expression to Nasreen. Let's go home. Well... the queen certainly hoped it wasn't taking the to Th'orqui. Nothing aginst there, Kahlua was sure it was beautiful, but she had a herd to watch over and tend here, relationships to maintain, Kaj to help. She couldn't just leave.

But her hesitation was only momentary, for the misty stag was solidifying into water, a most curious way to be, and he cried out a beautiful song that stole the painted girl's heart. Whatever memories of snakes and death, of challenges and fire, had plagued her, they were lost with the wind. Her smile widened, her blue eyes sparkled. The stag was cautious and nervous, but Kahlua did not sense any of this. She was enraptured by him and she longed to run up to him, to press against his barely solid form, to force her friendship upon him.

Still, it seemed that she could never quite catch up. Besides, it would be best not to chase him off yet. The queen was utterly lost, even in her own home, and as she became ever more lost in the thickening mist, guided only by the stag and his horns, the queen wondered if they would ever make it out of this blinding path alive. But in time, as all things do, her worries passed- she and Nasreen were welcomed into a kingdom of clouds and waterfalls. Looking down, the queen even found her feet shrouded in a fluffy haze that left her feeling somewhat dizzy. Was she floating?

“You're an angel,” she murmured to him, as he announced that they were home. But he was off again before she could ask anything else of him. With a girlish giggle and a glance back to Nasreen, she set off again. At first she thought they were headed to the beautiful gates surrounding the kingdom, but as the stag angled his path it became ever more apparent that they were not. She frowned, though followed him into the shadows. Why walk in the darkness when there was the beauty of the light to revel in? “Is this your home?” she asked quietly of Nasreen as they moved on. The pegasus had seemed so certain, after all...

Still, so surrounded in wonder as she was, the queen had little time for thinking about why she and Nasreen had been taken here.
