They are more quiet now, perhaps understanding his urgency and the necessity of the shadows (though how can they?), or maybe just fearing for their own lives. Whatever the reason, he was grateful of their discrepancy and their continued faith in his leadership.

He stole a glance over his shoulder to look at them, his saviors. Ice pricked in the edges of his eyes as emotion grasped them, so hastily he turned his attention back to the path that lie ahead.

Once they had rounded to the west side of the castle he abruptly cut in towards the walls. His gait shifted from a hurried walk to a long, rocking, lope. His hooves barely grazed the tops of the clouds, all limbs meeting underneath him as he sailed on the air for several seconds before reaching back out ahead of him. The space between him and his destination was swallowed by his speed and his grace.

With flanks slightly heaving, or what seemed to be his flanks among the swirling moisture of his body, the creature came to a halt. Great sheets of ice rose above them, but he did not seem deterred. Glancing around at his companions, the stag touched his frozen tines to the structure. They passed through with a quiet tinkle. He stood there, his antlers partially buried in the wall as though holding open a door for them to pass into. The humming sound of laughing ice remained the whole while he touched it.

"eIIIIIIIIIInnnnuh," he breathed to them, motioning towards the wall with his head.

Should you choose to step inside, you would find a tall, sloped ceiling of clouds drifting above you, while frozen, patterned floors glitter beneath you. Moisture and chill is prominent, likely causing your breath to be visible, yet there is a warmth that emanates; the kind that comes from a friendly welcome or a joyful gathering.

Yet the stag, so nervous and so secretive, is out of place in such an atmosphere, and so is the hallway to your left. It seems absent of joy, and the clouds are darker, heavier, colder. Something lies down there which is not well, of that you can be certain.

Even more worrisome however, is the set of antlers that you can hear tinging in the shadows of the hall. Another mist-deer stands there, and he turns if you enter, a pair of ice-blue eyes peering from beneath his frosted rack. They are not unkind, but neither are they inviting. The creature seems curious, but on alert.

You are not supposed to be here.
