His sister and friend near him give him peace as the might of the Sun Lord glows before him. He had not known what he had gazed upon, had not dared to think it true, but the words of the mighty stallion cannot be ignored. He is a God, descended from the very heavens to stand upon the fields before all of these who have gathered around him. Adelric is quite happy, actually, with the number that have gathered here. With so many about, it is easy for him to sink into the background, to disappear into nothingness, to be but a speck on the wall. He is not shy; no, not at all, but he is not worthy. Why should he, the half-child, the broken, the unwhole, get to gape at the beauty of the Sun God when there are so many- his friend, the Night Phoenix, the whole child, Erebos- who deserve this favor so much more?

Still, when a god commands, the child obeys.

He turns to see his sister run off as she brushes her muzzle against him. He wonders where she goes, wonders if she does not know... He has seen mirages dancing in the water of the falls. Not heat mirages, but specters nevertheless, shadow images that cannot be reached no matter how he tries. And try he has. He has spent hours wondering how to reach the rainbow at the end of the falls, but every time he comes close, the rainbow has moved just out of reach. Silently, he ponders, turning his head now to Erebos. How are they to retrieve something that can never be reached? The puzzle is difficult, but he enjoys the challenge it brings to his young mind.

What he finds on the night phoenix's face is a mesmerized gaze directed towards one very odd mare. The half-child turns, gazes upon her, as her coat turns to rain and waters fall down from above. Magic, quite like his mothers. He is drawn, awe-stricken, and again he wants to scream out, as he did with his mother, HOW DOES IT WORK!? He wants to know, needs to know, because how can a mortal conjure rain out of nothingness? What must they do, overcome, understand, feel in order to create such whimsy? He takes a hesitant step towards her, towards the god, towards his certain doom, when the voice of his friend calls him back. Lets use her puddles!

He turns back to his friend, delighted, ecstatic, exuberant to have been included. The night phoenix wants his help? Adelric is astounded, but his heart races with joy. He watches as his friend begins to dig in the ground with his horn and the half-child smiles, amused by his friend's cleverness. His own mouth is full of moss carrying the softly glowing orb that he possesses, but he travels somewhat ahead of his friend, digging fervently with his hooves, hoping to make the work go faster, the water flow sooner, to reach the edge of the flowers. Has he pleased his God and his friend? He hopes and prays that it is so.
