It is rare to see pure joy on the girl's face, at least of late. She has been through much darkness, our firedancer, and despite her youth it has taken its toll upon her slender frame, her supple mind. Yet in this moment all that strife is washed away; it would be fair to say that the young mare positively glows with pleasure and pride, that her lines are soft and her eyes alight, that she is content in the world, free from shadow for a beautiful, fleeting pocket of time.
The magic of the Sun God leaves her just in time, for it is a force too powerful for her to hold. Though she feels vacant without its warmth, the girl knows her diety has taken it back to protect her, and his affirmation of his success fills her heart with a brilliant, blazing pride. She smiles at him, her face alight, the crescent moon crinkling at the pull of lined lips, two-toned ears relaxed in the tangled mane; the boy at his feet is happy too, and runs through the flowers chaotically, splashing in puddles conjured by the clever sky-mirror pegasus. When one a flower rises to rest in the base of the girl's braided tail, she turns to look at it in delight, marveling in the golden glow, the perfection of it, the beauty. She grins at Lace as he passes her by, promising to meet her in the Throat.
In this moment, life is perfect, and the girl is infinitely, perfectly content.
Dark voice strikes out into the wayward crowd, and though it is busy and loud she knows that he will hear. "Thank you," she tells her god, earnestly, happily, black eyes reflecting his brilliant flames. "I will do my best to make you proud." Fierce in voice and high of head, the young mare turns from the Sun, leaving him to those who have been asked to stay, happy to bask in the glorious day and enjoy her time on the top of the world.
