Adelric watches with bated breath as the Sun gives his commands to those about him. To the peacock mare, disdain because she should have listened or been respectful. To the large hybrid, honor and glory- a request for Hector to pray at the Sun God's shrine. And to the pale mare, a task that Adelric would have been happy to carry out, if only it would make the god happy. He would not mind being altered or changed to fit the deity's whimsy, if it was requested of him. But, he reminds himself, it was not. He is unworthy, a speck on this mountaintop, a fly compared to those all around him. That is, until the Sun God takes notice of his contemptible form.

So fixated on the white mare, he does not notice the god's sneer, though he would not have been angry for it. It was an understandable emotion. Adelric had done so little to try and make the god like him. It was his own fault. But the fact that the god has taken notice of him at all... he is astonished and shaken. What to do? While his indecision holds him rooted in place, Ophelia steps towards him and her smile, gentle and beautiful, gives him some peace. He finds himself in the chaotic reaches of his mind and settles his egg onto the ground, where it can be safe while he bows to them. As his leg stretches out and his head stretches down, he looks first to the Sun God and then to Ophelia, hoping he will not offend the latter, but the former certainly requires his honor first.

“I remember you too,” he echoes her sentiment softly, “I'm Adelric.” With her question in his mind, he bites his tongue, still not sure what to say, how to say it, or if he even should. But he fears the wrath of the sun, as he has watched so many others get burnt, and he does not wish to anger the god by not asking the question that the Sun clearly knows he wishes to as. So, after some hemming and hawing, hedging and shifting, nosing his egg and looking to the white dragon, the half-child decides to speak.

“You have eyes like me... I haven't seen anyone else like that, except my sister.” For a half a moment he looks for Zunden, but her form has long since retreated from this gathering. “Do- does it mean something?” He pauses for a breath, trying to work up the courage to speak the other question lodged in his mouth. “How do I... how do I fix myself?” Finally, and quickly, because he suddenly realizes he has probably offended her by suggesting that she needs to fix herself as well (though he thinks that she is probably perfect), he says for the second time in a short while, “I'm sorry.”
