Whatever routes the four might have used to reach the center of the training ring, one has become much more obvious: One marked by black. Black liquid, too damp to be dried blood, but not quite red enough to be fresh, dotted the ground. Following it, the four notice that it becomes more and more uniform, until the array of dots became a splatter, and the splatter became a continuous smear, leading directly into the center.
Therein, lay the discarded silver body of a pegasus. Wounds, clearly fresh, laced her body. Purple bruises gave the appearance of dappling, as they were so numerously placed. Whatever had killed her, surely had not done so easily. It was clear that the mare had put up quite a fight, and lost a significant amount of blood before life was finally pulled from her.
To whoever did this, this mare was likely only known as an annoyance that needed to be dealt with. But to the rest of Helovia, she was known as Vesta.
