"Mother? Father?" It was more of a whisper than a call. Sacre had been spending his days in the clutches of the Dragons Throat for a while and it was now he thought he'd make the trip slowly back north, to the wild land that bordered the Basin hoping to find familiar faces. Images of his dam flittered through his mind follow by the feeling of fondness, he was by far old enough now to earn his way in the world, but still the son would always miss his mothers warm side. As soon as he hit the familiar cold rush that could be felt even in Tallsun he smiled as memories came flooding back to him of his time with Roux and the rest of his family. The cold was like the familiar homely embrace, the colt felt none of its bitter bite and instead welcomed it as a refreshing nostalgia. Yet, there was an uneasiness he had never felt before, every time he came here there had always been a sense of belonging. Now it was replaced by the worry of betrayal and if those in the Basin, some who he still considered friend, would call him a traitor. Even more worrying, would Roux brand him one? There was nothing really he had done wrong, but the boy couldn't help thinking and then feeling unwell. His father had always said to live side by side with his horned brethren was an honour and he should never forget that. Surely, if anyone, his own father would be disappointed.

Of what Sacre had seen of the world so far, surely it was better to honour the company of genuine friends than those who simply shared a physical trait. He tried to imagine what his father would think of Tandavi as a friend and shuddered. Although, not too long ago, he had been spirited away from his own family and shown the brutality that a battle could bring. For that there was a lingering resentment towards the Worlds Edge that he struggled to shake off. That was one thing he and his father had in common.

Pushing aside his increasingly agitating thoughts, Sacre pushed on northward and onto the wild known as the Frostbreath Steppe. The unclaimed wilderness that bordered the Basin. By now night had fallen and the dazzling lights he remembered so fondly from his childhood lit up the sky. He continued walking with his neck craned up until Inari yapped excitedly and bounced forwards from the side of his bonded. Sacre frowned and moved his head to see better where his fox had decided to run off to.

Surprise littered his expression before the sides of his eyes softened at the sight of Sikeax. Who else would he find up here? The last time she looked to be in trouble, at least this time she looked well in herself. At least, he hoped. The colt walked fondly up to her side, laughter snorting softly from his inky nostrils as his blue eyes lit up in friendly affection. "Sikeax!" He greeted her with his normal bubbly tones. "Why is it I always find you somewhere in these mountains?"
