Still, both admit that the island is beautiful upon their arrival- and fun too. No sooner have they arrived than there is a creature (a turtle!!) directing equines and those with equine blood (that’s him!) to a… starting line? Curious, curious indeed, but Adelric is swept up in the chaos of all the rest and before he knows it, he too is running the race with all of them. Another with a horn is running too- another hybrid? But she is more whole than he is, he can see it by looking upon her. She will beat him, he is certain. They’ll all beat him. He’s so small, so insignificant… Still, alongside him, Tobias looks so happy that Adelric cannot stop running. The cerndyr finds this all be a game, and so Adelric plays right along with him. Perhaps miss Ophelia had been correct. Perhaps having a companion would help him discover portions of himself that he did not know about.
But Adelric should have been paying attention instead of day-dreaming. There is a sudden up-cropping of roots and… MOVING TREES!!??! This day is just getting more and more curious for the half-child. And while agile Tobias bobs and weaves about the foliage with ease, Adelric finds himself slowing to avoid such chaos. Swerve left, dodge right. He tries so very hard and now he has found a reason to run. He must know which of these creatures made the trees move, made the roots rise… He must know how their magic words- he wants to know, no needs to know. So now he runs with new fervor, hooves digging into the ground, trying his best to keep up with the older and stronger horses. Already his chest heaves, but his bi-colored eyes are determined. He will figure out what is happening.
Please do not tag Adelric unless it is in an opening post
