frozen faces can always melt, push this echo in the outside world

[OOC: Please let Jack reply first and then go after in according fashion! Much love!]

In the darkness of night, Saisand's optical senses were wearied. In the low light the terra firma that was the Foothills grew pitifully lonely, the stumps of the trees casting shadows upon the short herbage and grass that surrounded her pillars. The rocks that jutted every now and again stirred her imagination, like predators hiding underneath the ground, ready to pounce. Paranoia was high in the air, affecting her senses. The odd rustle of a creature or the breeze whistled through to her little lobes, sending shivers down her spine. Rushing as quickly as she could through the now alien landscape, she could barely see in front of her through the fright. Suddenly, she was plunged down with a loud thud. Pain shot through her hind left leg, caught on a branch of a fallen old tree that had caused the golden femme to trip. Her pride stung as she lay there, embarrassed and bruised from the little situation.
"No no no no!" She spat to herself, half out of fright and the other half from being vexed at her stupidity. Such a young duchess was vulnerable travelling alone in what was still a strange place to her, and she began to wonder if she had made the right decision of leaving the comfort of the meeting to gather her thoughts.

Laying there, she quickly flickered open her pools that had glued shut tight from the episode, and tried to pick herself off the ground. With her lithe pillar caught on the other side of the small tree, she was unable to stand on all fours. With a snort from the effort of holding up her mass, she flung back down. The grass was little more than a slight soften to the blow of flesh and bone meeting the tough terrain. The bleached half of her beautiful crown and chest was covered in dust from the fall, almost matching her pelt if not for the dirtiness of it. Sighing, she spoke in an almost whisper, dejected and blue, "Someone please help..."

The night was black, but the gliding bronze wings caught whatever starlight allowed, the distant lights in the sky peeking from behind dark clouds.

He dreamed that he was soaring.

He was a bird, a dragon, a bat; alone but for the whistling wind beneath his outstretched wings. He was free, no worries, no cares, no memories, just an unnamed entity, a body-less consciousness embodied by the deep black sky and the twinkling stars. There was a mass below him, gentle rolling hills and severe mountains with snow on their summits. If he strained his eyes, he could even see the tall grass swaying in the valley, like waves breaking upon a shore.

But when he strained his eyes more, he could see something troubling. Someone is in danger, he thought frantically, and then he was falling. Down, down, down. He tried to flap his wings, but they would not respond, would not heed his screaming or his flailing. The ground came closer at an alarming rate. He fell.

The yearling jerked awake, slate eyes wide with roiling fear. He lifted his head up gingerly, expecting to feel terrible pain, but nstead, the muscles obeyed him placidly, and he could easily see the comforting sweeping curve of the valley below him. With a sigh of relief, the colt stood up shakily from his slumber, almost hitting his head against a tree branch in the process. He grunted. It was a vast moonless night, the unfriendly vault of the sky hanging above him ominously.

Idly, he wondered where Dei was, and why he wasn't sleeping on a branch of the massive oak tree as Jackal had remembered him to be. Where are you? he asked quietly, flicking his tail with anticipation. After a tense few moments, he heard a clear voice, familiar and welcome, but agitated nevertheless. Found hurt queen - come quick, under big tree. A mental image- he was perched upon a slender trunk, eyes angled toward the mare caught beneath it. She spoke in gentle tones, although the words were troubling. "Someone please help..."

And with the words echoing in his ears, he shoved into a brisk canter, head held low and ears perked alertly.

He followed the mind-signals the bronze had been sending, to find him perched upon a rather impressive fallen tree, a mess of leaves and rotting wood splattered around the perimeter like gore in a cheap horror movie. Dei was cooing gently at the pretty pale mare trapped beneath it, and Jackal paused, nostrils flaring in thought.

"Lady," he said abruptly, mildly, arching his neck towards her. "I am here to help." And with that, he strode forward, nudging the tree uncertainly, rough bark beneath his muzzle taunting him in the voice of a striped mare. Ears pinned back with anger and sadness, he urged every muscle in his body to push and forget about the past, however taunting it may be.

[ahhh I wasn't sure if the tree was small enough for him to push it away xD]

frozen faces can always melt, push this echo in the outside world

[OOC: Absolutely fine! I was an idiot to forget to mention the size of the tree, but it is small enough for Jacko to move ^^]

The darkness of the heavens did not help her vision. Even when she felt the presence of a brute, she could not clearly see. This was mainly due to her lack of vision through fright and wariness of trying to pull herself free. Instead, she stopped moving and tried to concentrate on the sounds that the creature made, her lobes flicking backwards and forwards frequently to get a clear sound. The swooping of wings fluttered above her and the beautiful vixen shook violently. Get away from me!

Then another scent drifted to her terrified mass - it was a brute. She felt him come in closer to her, the stranger spoke at a pace words of help, she responded with a small squeak and let him shift the small tree. With a mighty pull she freed herself, and then turned to face her helper. It was a young brute, only a little younger than her own self. He was fairly sturdy, with a pelt of crimson fawn, a general hue of orange, or what she could make out in the dim light. What did stand out, however, were the azure orbs and pearl droplets upon his pelt. Both sparkled in the light and cast an almost ghostly appearence to his display, but nonetheless she was impressed at the little chap's strength. She warmly reached over, her velveteens touching his shoulder before she softly spoke,
"Thank you, I am in your debt for your kindess, sir." She smiled, before adding, "I am Saisands, may I know the name of my rescuer?" No humour intended, her warm words were a welcome to a conversation that she thought necessary to someone that helped her.
