His sister’s words cause him to shrink in stature a little, disappointed that he has upset her. Be polite, he repeats to himself internally, trying as usual to make her happy and make her like him. But while his sister beside him squirms and the rest act as though it is an occasion to be mourned, Adelric feels very little. Perhaps he should feel worse, but it is hard to feel broken up about a man you met once, no matter what sort of glorious light he had been painted in before that meeting. Still, when Zunden finally speaks, he knows that she should really be the spokesperson for their group. As much as he likes to try and protect her, she is the real protector. Just to hear her bold speech in the face of queen is proof. Thus, with her touch, he calms and settles so as to please her and to follow her lead. She seems to know what must be done.

But nothing in life ever seems easy for the half-child and his twin. The appearance of one golden monster causes the frown to return to Adelric’s face. It is not the words about his father, which affect him little, but rather the fact that this man seems to know too much. Knowing too much is bad for these twins; their lie must stand solidly if their life here is to be the happy-ever-after they hope it to be. Furrowing his brow at the golden, which could just as well be taken as hurt feelings about his father, Adelric tries to keep his cool- for his sister’s peace of mind.

At least, the half-child finds, the queen seems to be just as upset about Thranduil as he is. She snaps at him and the half-child actually has to bite back a snort of amusement. Still, all the while, his mind is turning, wondering what is to come of this, and consulting with Tobias who also does not know what to make of this situation. But he finds he will know soon enough, for once her chastising words to the golden are done the GildedBlade returns her attention to the twins.

As for the half-child, he stands strong and solid as she speaks of truths and families. He has neither, as far as he is concerned. Life has so many mysteries that have not yet been revealed to him- what truths he knows are few and unimportant. As for family… his father is dead, his mother is lovely but he has forsaken her, and what else is there? The only family he has left is Zunden and Erebos. Regardless, he finds that the truth to the first question she asks is easy enough. “Thank you Erebos,” he begins, eyes glancing backwards at the sentinels which he has still not been given an answer about. In time, perhaps.

“Our father was not a good man,” he decides on the other point. “But I was not there for his passing. Zunden will have to give you what answers you need.” Yet, he is not done speaking. Not now… he has a mystery, a truth that he thinks the GildedBlade will be very fond of. “I know something else, though. Something I saw on the ice just beyond your mountain.” He had forgotten to tell Zunden about it until just now, something more pressing having always arisen in their conversations. “The world got very dark, and something happened. A black pegasus fell from the sky and splatted on the ground. Then it disappeared and happened again… and again… and after the third time there was nothing left but blood. I don’t know anything else about it.”

A smug look crosses his face then- he can’t help but turn to the golden and almost dare him to comment on that happening with his two-colored eyes. The land had been wide open and there had nobody around but Morir and Faeanne, of that Adelric was certain. But his gaze does not linger long; it moves to rest on Zunden, who will have to be brave and tell the story of their father’s demise one more time. Tobias croons softly, but makes no move to stand beside her. She must be strong on her own this time. It’s the way she would want it, anyways.
