For a moment, Sorcha's burgundy marked form stood in the clearing, lazily waiting for a reply to her call. The thinning canopy of foliage arced above her, and the wood was relaxed and safe. But like many things in life, that would not last. The universe just had a way of playing the most interesting games. Within another brief moment, the mare's confident foundation took a major blow. A rush of dangerous noise; snapping wood, fleeing animals, and a final greeting snarl. The girl's porcelain eyes caught the form of the predator running right at her. There was no time to run or think about what to do, only precious seconds until the beast would meet her flesh. The aggressor was no equine - that she would have been better prepared for. No, this adversary was something that seemed to literally want to consume her. The foreign feeling of shock tried to envelope her, threatening to leave her paralyzed in the carnivore's path. Whether if it was fighting experience or pure will to live that caused her to act, she'd never know. The fae swung her red and white hindquarters towards the attacker in an effort to protect her more vulnerable parts. As her haunches spun towards the bear, she threw her back hooves up, hoping to slam them into whatever part of the creature she could. Something akin to a roar emanated from her tensed throat. It had no words to it, just the blended tones of fear and wild rage. 'You will not take my life, you mongrel! You will not!' Sorcha's mind screamed. Adrenaline pumped through her veins, fueled even more by the anger that was beginning to fall over the mare. |
