The chill in the air bit into the queen’s skin as she awoke from a mid-morning nap, frowning as she looked out towards the cliffs where the ocean ignored the cold and still beat against the rocky shore. There were few days where she thought back to the reign of Mirage and wished for the return of the mare, but this was surely one of them. When the dragon queen had ruled, fires had burned endlessly, fueled by the Dragon Heart and her golden queen. Them having been burned out in the darkness, the queen had no way to light them up again or surely she would have. They had always been one of her favorite things. But, she supposed, there was no use pining over things she could not change. There had to be another way to help…
But whatever that way to help was, was quickly forgotten when the little blue leaped from her back to take flight. Furrowing her brow to see what had gotten the feathered creature so excited, she caught a flash of orange- Tallis! Smiling brightly, she found that Khan had quickly taken to circling behind his elder (who surely he should have been respecting, not antagonizing), trying to encourage the creature into game. But Tallis’ determination only left the blue empty clawed with no game to speak of.
As for Kahlua, she was merry enough. Laughing along to the game, she picked up a trot and followed after the orange dragon back towards Eva. Whickering softly at the sight of her advisor, she looked up to thank Tallis but found him soaring back off in the other direction, still tailed by one young and playful Khan. Shaking her head, she returned her gaze to Eva and happily slowed before her. “I take it I’m needed?” Her words bounced as she spoke, the laughed playing on her lips. Even through the cold, she couldn’t deny that she was happy to see her fleur shouldered friend.
