She smirked. She couldn't help it, but it was what the situation called for given how prudish Elsa was acting, and how she had lost. No hard feelings ice queen Ampere had thought as she turned her gaze away, letting it settle on Bucephalus' much more intriguing physique. "It does," she agreed as she lifted her wings with him, taking to the skies with mild effort - the cold and the trees made take off harder than usual.

Once airborn Ampere fell into an easy glide beside him, shouting over the wind, "call me Ampere!" She didn't add the second part of her name; she rarely liked giving any part of her name. The calling cards had never been important to her, but she understood the basic necessities and manners of them. Still, he'd probably learn the other part with time, she had earned enough of a reputation, good or bad, to cause it.

"Won't be long!" she called over to him again, drifting recklessly over him to settle in on his right side. She grinned into the wind, always fond of flight and the feeling it delivered. Bceause it was harder to flirt while flying, and since the trip wasn't as short as it would have been from the Threshold to the Falls, she filled the time with information about the herds and the lands. She supposed it was good practice at teaching, which she needed if she was going to play any part of the Academy Sohalia had talked about. She debriefed him on the gods (what little she knew, she hadn't met two of them), and the ranks and who filled them among the Throat. It was mostly droll stuff, but important, something even she recognized.

Still, she was grateful when the desert opened up beneath them. Home she breathed with some kind of awe - she was still adjusting to the idea herself after a difficult, internal struggle. She flashed her blue eyes at him then pulled down sharply on her right wing, falling into a clockwise spiral that brought her closer and closer to the ground with each revolution. Before long her wings reached back and beat the air into submission, her forelegs reaching for the sand. She loped forward as she met it, going only a few strides before pulling to a stop and glancing around for Bucephalus. The patrols probably saw them come in and would arrive to investigate, but they were alone for the moment.

Her face was wilder than usual, eyes alive from the flight and mane a windtossed sea of black coasting around her features. "Welcome to the Throat," she exclaimed, her voice energetic, her body electric as she moved closer to him.

Bucephalus nickered a swift farewell to Elsa before launching into the sky, his narrow wings pumping hard to get him airborne in his exhausted state. But once he reached a height where the air could support him without much effort on his part, the stallion relaxed."Well met, Ampere." He called out to her, grinning at the slightly reckless way she flew.

But he began to grow bored once she went on a spiel about the herd, and although he paid attention, listening, it held little interest to him. So, while still listening to the blue-black mare, Buce began testing out the winds. With simple flicks of his feathers, he slid from one current to another, gathering a feel for these new skies he flew in. Some winds were familiar, the slow trails of winds that had carried him across the Steppes. Most, however, were new. And at this discovery, the stallion felt a new swell of energy rise up. By this time Ampere had gone to land, and a recklessness took hold of Bucephalus.

With powerful wingbeats he shot straight up, as high as he could go, high enough that the air grew thin and sharp and white steam flew from his muzzle. Then, he tucked a wing and fanned the other sharply, twisting to fly upside-down; suspended for a single heartbeat in the air, motionless. Then he slammed both wings against his sides and dove.

A piercing shriek of a whistle tore from his wings as they cut through the air, unfurled just enough to give him control over the flight. Wild laughter exploded from him, snatched away by the wind. Freedom was this; the adrenaline of diving, of having no bounds save what your wings and skill could give you. This was his addiction.

When the ground came hurling towards him, he flared his tail feathers(although this was an instinctive reaction, they didn't help much in his flight) and snapped his wings out at just the right angle so that they didn't break from the sheer force of his dive and so that he could slow down. He hit the ground at a gallop, sand flying from his hooves at the impact and his prance as he turned, gold eyes gleaming, whites flashing from excitement. The feel of sand beneath his hooves felt right on a basic level, and his body trembled faintly. To be honest, if not for the presence of Ampere he would have taken off into the sky again, such was his newfound energy that his neck was arched and tail raised. "I think I'm going to like it here." He said breathlessly to Amp, tossing his head once.

With a fire in my bones and the sweet taste of kerosene

Ampere was surprised to find that when she looked around to talk to Bucephalus, her greeting perched on her lips, he was not to be found. The phrase tumbled from her throat in its rush, but her jaws quickly snapped shut as she turned around, glancing along the sands for him. She was certain he had been just beside her.

Go figure she'd lose the only recruit she'd ever managed to acquire.

A passing breeze encouraged her to look up however, the one place she hadn't, at least not high enough. Yet there he was, just cresting his theatrical backflip and shooting down in his dive. Ampere's heart leapt into her chest, though it wasn't driven to patter like rabbit's feet due to fear, despite the very dangerous nature of dives. It was exhilaration that fled through her, blue eyes shining as she trailed his frame int he sky, thoroughly impressed. There had been few to none whom she'd met that loved the sky as much as her, and even fewer who chose to play in it like she, and now, he.

He landed with a spray of sand and an excited whinny from Ampere. She closed the gap between them, laughing and tossing her head with unspent energy that he'd put in her. "So much for rest eh?" she joked with a raised 'brow and a lopsided grin. He was handsome and fun, what a catch.

Unable to resist she reached out to nip him playfully on his shoulder, jerking away to the right with a flurry of black hairs and feathers. She dashed across the sands, easily slipping into a gallop as she invited him to chase her. The land was not where they belong though, so as she moved her wings began to unfurl from her sides, testing the wind as it poured over and under them. With well practiced movements she pumped them against the air stream, kicking off with her feet to fling herself into the currents, guided by the momentum of her run.

By the Winds that had been a rush, exhilaration making his slender legs tremble as he danced in place. He turned his head at the excited whinny from Ampere; his dive seemed to have sparked that wildness in her again. "Rest can come later." He laughed, fanning his wings slightly in the air. Gone was his exhaustion, pushed back to the recesses of his being, the adrenaline from his dive granting bounds of new strength to his limbs. He wanted to run, to frolic and dance and fly more.

And it seemed he was not alone in his thinking. The faint pinch on his shoulder caused his head to turn just as the blue-black minx raced off in a dare for him to give chase. A grin pulled at his ebony lips, and he allowed her to get off the ground before he shot after her. If she believed she could outfly him, he would put that to the test. His sharp wings snapped open as he launched himself into the wind. One pump, two pumps and he was gone from the ground, tearing off after her. In this chase she had the advantage; she would know these winds far better than he. But what he had on his side was the sheer speed his wings could grant him if he could get higher than her.

So he did just that, angling himself so that he wouldn't fall behind as he gained altitude, narrow wings cutting through the air. He didn't know why, but this mare brought out his recklessness, which was something he'd long since needed, too long stuck in the rut of superiority and nobility. He forced himself out of his thoughts, focusing on the chase at hoof. Reaching just the height he wanted, Bucephalus tucked his wings close to his body and went into a slanted dive, the wind screaming as his feathers cut through the air like a knife through butter. He had angled himself just enough that he would wind up right behind her, enough that if he stretched out his neck he could nip the trailing ends of her tail.

Three shapes, composed full of fire, also joined the chase.

They were large - far larger than they ought to be. Shaped liked eagles, the fiery beings glided easily, creating their own air currents as their blazing wings super heated the air around them. They flew ahead of Gaucho, as if heralding his arrival. Truly, Gaucho was simply working on controlling this aspect of his ability. Normally he used this composed companions in short range, and rarely did they ever attack. Typically they simply created a diversion, allowing Gaucho to line up his attacks. It hadn't really occurred to him to use them offensively, at least until now.

The creatures screamed silently, beaks snapping open and closed as they twirled and chased each other. As Ampere and Bucephalus came into view, Gaucho allowed the magical trio to casually fly their way, not wanting to scare the frolicking pair. The WildFire remained slightly reserved, his steely gaze seeing only the blue mare. It wasn't as though he had any right to feel jealousy, or any sort of dominance over her. Of course that wasn't enough to stop himself from having those feelings, but even his primitive mind new that they were unjustly held.

Still ...

Snapping his wings downwards, the WildFire rocketed towards the flirtatious duo. He had a right to be here after all, as their gladiator, in the wake of Africa's seeming disappearance and Sohalia's busy schedule. Was this a new recruit that Ampere had brought home? Was she merely showing him her backside and allowing him to chase her to entice him to stay? Or was this perhaps simply a toy that she was playing with? Either way, the hungry jealousy at seeing the pale stallion nip towards Ampere's rump caused the flames lining Gaucho's wings to flare up.

Flying towards them directly, Gaucho beat his wings once again, causing an arc of fire to radiate outwards far below them, hopefully causing a pocket of warm air to form.

"Ampere." He called, his voice rich and deep, carrying easily across the distance.

Bucephalus was creative, she had to give him that. As far as speed was concerned they were pretty evenly matched, even with Ampere's experience of the land. As Bucehphalus sunk into his second dive however, his velocity increased, granting him the position that he sought just behind her. Haughtily Ampere threw a glance over her shoulder, swerving suddenly to her right as she dripped down on her wing and fanned her tail to the side. The tips of her tail swayed in the air currents, reaching out gently towards Buchephalus' face before snapping away to follow Ampere as she dropped beneath him.

She didn't fall far; it'd end their game far too soon if she let the ground grab her again. Besides, she needed to prove to him that he wasn't the only athlete in the wind. She laughed, though the sound was yanked away, as she straightened out and slipped into a corkscrew spin. The world went dizzy and her head spun, but it gave her a light and happy feeling, so she persisted. It had been a long time, far too long, since she had last played like this. Her heart felt as if spring had arrived, shedding its dark and weighted winter coat. Beneath her dust and debris shifted into life. The organic matter seamlessly transformed into raw energy, energy which balled up into itself and chased after Ampere. The blue sparks were like a gown of dancing stars trailing behind her. For once the magic was inspired by her happiness, rather than her wrath. It seemed to make it all the more beautiful.

As with most things however, the moment did not last.

Coming out of her turns, Ampere noticed the fiery shapes. Her breath caught in her chest, already heaving with the exertion and the excitement of the flight, but stilled even further by the awesome appearance of the eagles. Ampere should have felt defensive, or somewhat worried, yet she could only gawk in appreciation. Perhaps the glee had addled her senses of survival, making her giddy and foolish, or perhaps she had grown accustomed to fire as she rolled beneath the most wild of it in her fantasies. Whatever the case, Ampere noticed the eagles did not approach with malice, in so much as intent can be gleaned from emblazened fabrications.

They neared, and she did stiffen, but her smile only grew. Below her the sparks had finally gathered and without much thought they took shape as a trio of falcons. The electric birds split up and flew to each inferno wrought raptor, content to drift beside and playfully harry the flames. The warm hues of his birds complimented the cool tones of hers, creating something more, something better than his alone.

Suddenly a warm embrace tucked around her, holding her, lifting her.
"Gaucho."

The words fell like a breath, finally released from her lungs, only to be snatched away by the air stream. She turned her head, just to be sure, but there was no mistaking his warmth. It radiated into her and caused a flush to grow in her cheeks and beneath her tail. Her blue gaze connected with him just as he called her name. The heat intensified inside her, burning through her body as if all her natural electrical impulses were replaced with flame and fire. To a certain degree, it hurt.

Her heart beat. She noticed it, almost as if it had stopped for a second or two. In that time the warmth passed, quickly chased away by the numbing tingle of static. The surprise in her gaze, likely too far for him to see, yielded to rising ire. Why is he here? she thought sharply, turning abruptly on her wings to meet him in the sky. She had not shirked her duties, so they had no reason to speak. Certainly Sohalia had need of him?

Ampere shot past him, flying close by overhead, a flash of blue and black. As she went she tugged at the collar on his neck, guiding it with the invisible hand of the energy which flowed inside it, and all things. "Gaucho!" she hailed as she went, taking on a voice too sweet to be true. "Meet Bucephalus," she exclaimed as she turned sharply on her left wing, aiming to settle into flight somewhat near the bay beast. It was best for her to keep her distance, lest she reach out to try and bite him, one for driving her wild even after all this time, and two, for being here to drive her wild. "He's great, isn't he?" she smirked, gaze sliding from the Wildfire to the daredevil in gold and black. After this bullshit, she'd definitely need to fuck his brains out to help her sleep tonight. She hoped it'd be enough to chase Gaucho out of her dreams, even if just for the night.

Bucephalus couldn't tear his gaze from Amphere, the trail of sparks like a cape rippling behind her was one of the most beautiful sights he had seen, highlighting her grace and power as she played amongst the winds. He almost didn't want to catch her, to let the flight last for eternity; two pegasi constantly chasing one another across the sky.

Tension rippled across the blue-black mare, causing Bucephalus to follow her gaze to the fiery eagles, and his ears pinned back. Magic. But this wasn't magic as he was used to, there was no humming undertone from the eagles, no sign of their singer. Or so he thought. The heartbeat the phoenix-like creatures vanished, another pegasi flew in, his entire build larger than Bucephalus's own. His eyes narrowed in suspicion, and he started when the buckskin sent a semicircle of flames down towards the ground. Either he had horrible aim or a different motive.

Bucephalus found the motive as the air heated under his wings, and he smoothly slid from the hot pocket towards cooler winds, winds that were natural. However he assumed, considering the obvious familiarity between the new stallion and Ampere, that the other was from the herd and had no intentions of attack. That settled his nerves somewhat, but he regarded the other stallion with a gaze filled with reserved wariness and distrust. Mares were alright, fun to chase and more fun to catch. Stallions were trouble, annoyance and generally came with a healthy dose of pain.

Ampere's voice prevented him from delving into his thoughts, and his ears flicked back slightly at her tone so sweet it was like poison. If this... Guacho didn't pick up on the falseness of her tone... well either he was imagining it or the other was deaf. Even the black could sense some form of tension, although the exact cause escaped him. "Greetings, Guacho, is it?" He said, his tone distant, and there was not a trace of the playfulness on his features or posture from before; his wings were stiff in the wind, ears notched back and his face smoothed flat to a pleasant, polite expression.

Gaucho's large frame rotated easily in the sky, drawn by the flurry of Ampere's movements and spark. For a moment, he would be happy enough to simply follow her- to see where the blue/black flash of flesh would go. He would follow the curvature of her hind end and pulse of her wingbeats wherever it might lead, even were that to his own demise (which, it likely might be). As his name tumbled from her lips, whatever tunnel vision he had of the two of them together was shattered as the weight of his senses persisted through his daydream, reminding him that they were in fact, not alone.

Meet Bucephalus

At once his teeth clicked together. Whatever unjustified annoyance the WildFire felt towards Ampere in so far as the other male was concerned was heightened as she spoke his name. The syllables were lost on the breeze, although Mara had understood them well enough. Still, the dun closed his mind to the gentle sounding-out his bonded was trying to offer.

He's great, isn't he?

The creatures composed of fire dispersed in an aerial blaze as Gaucho's concentration was pulled entirely from wielding his magic, to the gold-patched stallion. His stormy gaze was stoic and unreadable, though any trace of his annoyance or jealousy had immediately disappeared. "Yes." He confirmed, his voice stiff and primitive as it usually was. Although Gaucho was no longer their Sultan, with Africa absent as of late, he found himself more and more completing duties that had previously fallen to him. Perhaps that was why he thought it his place to stop the two mid chase.

"Are you staying?" He asked pointedly, though not unkindly. Shooting Ampere a slightly disapproving look, the WildFire grunted. If Ampere had brought him here as a new member rather than as a playmate, that was his business.

[Blah. Sorry for the wait. I changed his rank!]

With a fire in my bones and the sweet taste of kerosene

Unlike his name, the stallion was cold. It was not a side of him Ampere had seen. It made her curious, a sensation which crept slowly through her anger, like a shadow growing longer under the rising sun. He didn't play. It crumbled her show; a castle built of sand falling beneath a passing foot. She fell quiet.

For the first time Ampere realized she did not know Gaucho.

Most of their time had been spent chasing one another, filled with their absences, instead of their presence. Had she made him into something more, something greater with every glimpse she saw, but spent alone? Had he become a dream in the night, fun to lay into in the cold, dark hours, but revealed as something else entirely upon waking in the daylight? The thought was like a raw slap.

She turned her gaze away, as though struck.

Some wild part of her wanted to leave. Her wings held a sudden itch to move. She did not want to be near him. She did not want to see him, to hear him, to smell him. She did not want to know him, not as he was, but as he had been.
She licked her lips.

She stayed. She wanted to know the answer too, or at least that's the excuse she gave herself. She could still go, could still fly off and leave them be. After all she didn't want Bucephalus, she wanted him. Bucephalus was a distraction, but like all of her other ones, he didn't work for long and definitely not when the fire burned beside her.

All the more reason to go.
Running away had always worked for her before, why not now?

Bucephalus had never felt more like an outsider. There was no possible way for him not to notice the tension between the two, and was safe to assume they had a history, and not fully a pleasant one. The other stallion asked a question, forcing Bucephalus's gold gaze to him. His tone was thick, and it caused Buce's ears to prick. Language problems? Or was he a weed-biter? Buce thought he was a little too...stone-like for a weeder, but one could never tell.

"Yes, i plan to stay." He replied, his tone absolutely polite. And nothing more. A faint flicker of jealousy had stirred within his chest, but he stamped it out with disgust. He didn't know Ampere what-so-ever, she was simply a flicker of fun he wanted to taste. After a short inner battle, his more tenacious side won out and he promptly focused his attention on Guacho, Ampere's temptation no longer a lure in his mind... well not completely. The more reckless part of his being sat within the recesses of his conciousness muttering rather foul things to himself, which he thought was rather amusing. He allowed the faint trace of his inner laughter onto his face. Let them wonder what it was he found amusing if they cared. Maybe they'd think it was amusement at their tension, maybe at Guacho's accent. He could care less.

However... it would be wise to not give his future herdmates insult, even if it was only half intended. So he smoothed his features back to a half-interested expression, his ears pricked between the two. Ampere caught his attention once more at her faint fidgeting motion; he recognized the urge to flee well enough. Curious now, he returned his gaze to Guacho. Idly he pondered if Ampere had only lured him here to be used to make the fiery stallion jealous. From what had happened now, it seemed that way to the black.

[ACKKKK I COMPLETELY FORGOT I AM THE WORST SORRY.]

The WildFire ignored Ampere. For now, this was business. If she had brought this stallion here as a simple play thing, that wouldn't do. He had been speaking with Sohalia, and in Africa's absence, the two had made plans. Plans for the Throat, and plans for the Academy. No longer would the Throat accept vagabonds and strays. No longer would any be accepted simply in virtue of arriving upon its sands ... Change was coming. Although for now, Gaucho was not in a position to enact such changes. Not yet, but soon.

The dun nodded, the bone piercing his nose twitching slightly as he exhaled. His stormy gaze surveyed Buce for a moment, and he was pleased to see that he did not appear weak or scrawny. If he was going to stay, it at least appeared the he could pull his weight in some way or another.

"Should find a job then." He advised, though at this point, it truly was more of a suggestion, and an almost friendly one at that. "Throat needs crafters." He offered with a shrug, causing the bone-spikes that wrapped around his shoulders to dance and tap together almost musically. "Throat will have big building plans soon..." He voice trailed off as his gaze moved momentarily to Ampere. He hadn't shared his plans with anyone but Sohalia, and part of him was interested to see if the Blue would be curious. However the shift in his attention did not last long, and almost immediately moved back to Buce. He could do as he wanted ... for now at least.

With a fire in my bones and the sweet taste of kerosene

Gaucho's blunt acceptance would not normally have riled Ampere, but today she found it like a bad taste in her mouth. She shot him a look from the corner of her eyes, evaluating him. Was he being his usual self, and she was more critical because of the tension between them, or was he being more terse than usual, due to the heat between her and Bucephalus? Either option seemed likely, if not a mixture of both. She supposed he could certainly be more unkind, so settled with her continued silence.

Silence had never been Ampere's strong suit though.

As Gaucho suggested the life of a work horse for Bucephalus Ampere balked. She caught the Wildfire's gaze, but only saw in it what she wanted to see - that eh was purposefully stuffing this sexual threat into the mines, hiding him, removing him from Ampere's line of work. His eyes could see plain as hers that the gold and black brute was well suited for battle.
"Don't you think we have more need of soldiers than frivolous arts and crafts?" she asked, her tone thin, but held in check. To Ampere crafting was a new vocation, along with some of the others here. In her homeland survival was the game and the best two careers for that was fighting and stealing, if not a little bit of both (as she had dabbled in). Anything else seemed like a luxury, a price too high for their growing herd which sorely lacked a strong army. Gaucho knew this, so what other reason could he have?

Or did he know Bucephalus heart better than she, at first glance? Had she seen in the strange stallion something more than was there?

She glanced back at him, openly staring as she regarded what he had to offer.
She decided she did want to fuck him after all, when this was over. Maybe it'd help stop all the tumults feelings raging inside her and help her focus on one, feeling him.

Bucephalus was just about as surprised as Ampere when the stallion suggested not fighting, but crafting. "That sounds divine." The stallion exhaled, unable to stop the flash of relief across his face. He wouldn't have to fight. Create rather than tear down. The faint scars on his hide were a false statement to his personality; although he enjoyed fighting at times, he no longer wanted to dedicate his life to it. And that this herd offered choices other than battle was both relieving and confusing.

Ampere's words caught his attention, and he turned his head towards her. "I've done enough fighting to last two lifetimes. I don't deny i enjoy the occasional spar, my blood runs too hot for it. He grinned for a heartbeat. "But day in day out training to fight, to injure, to maim and to destroy... No more. I've tasted of that life, i'd rather taste another. But then Bucephalus glanced to Guacho, ears flicked forward. "Although should crafter not settle with me, i'd throw my energy into your soldiers.

The exhaustion was starting to return, the black's wingtips trembling slightly in the air. Flying so far on little food and rest, then the chase with Ampere taking it's toll, but in the face of this...well calling him a rival was too much, but in the face of this other stallion, he'd rather not...well loose face. He'd prefer to make a good impression. That way if shit hit the fan, he wouldn't have to fear his herdmates nor they him.

His gaze flickered to Ampere, and he flashed a grin at her, winking before he returned his gaze to Guacho, expression innocent. The talking was growing boring to the black; he either wanted to move or sleep, although at the moment he wasn't quite sure which one was more dominant. If anything, he wanted to wave Guacho goodbye, return to chasing Ampere, and then go into a happy sleep after catching the mare and... well stallions gonna be stallions.

(OOC: idk anymore im just -flops over- Still working out the kinks in Buce's mindset so... yeh)

In that moment, Ampere's short sightedness became even more lively and forceful in his mind than her raw sexuality ever had. He was overcome with a stumbling-over of words and ideas with a force he had never felt before. Gaucho had never been tongue-tied in the sense that most experience. His only experience with anything close was simply being unable to communicate, but only because words were foreign and difficult. Now, emotions and thoughts pressed themselves to the forefront of his mind, screaming to be let out. His body hardened instinctively as he unconsciously turned towards her slightly, as if angling to smack her across the face with a wing. Most of this physical reaction had to do with the mechanics of their relationship: although they had never progressed to this step before, Gaucho was sure that if it came down to it, any altercation between the two would be settled with their bodies (in one way around another) rather than their words. So it was not simply aggression that caused his subtle turn towards her, although it was not completely lacking either.

Were he more articulate, he might have said something like, If Sohalia suggested he be a crafter I can see why you'd think arts and crafts. But me Ampere? Do you think if I suggest it that's what I have in mind? Fucking arts and crafts? It isn't more likely that I had some sort of plan? But of course he wasn't capable of saying this, and so he didn't. In fact, he said nothing. He did have a plan, one that would require more crafter's but it would take more power than he possessed as Gladiator to bring it to fruition. For now only Sohalia knew, though with Africa's absence, perhaps his power-reaching wasn't completely unjustified ...

That sounds divine -

Snorting and tearing his gaze, and his body away from Ampere, he looked to Buce unmistakeably pleased. He wouldn't need to defend his views after all. The WildFire nodded his antlered skull. "Good." He grunted simply, whatever victory he mentally felt did not reveal itself in his voice.

"We will talk soon." This final comment sat uneasily in the air, as if the intended recipient was unclear. Gaucho's gaze was on Buce, and yet the words seemed to be meant for Ampere, for they were dry and flat in a way that his previous comment hadn't been. With another nod, Gaucho let the pulse of his wings falter slightly so that his body dropped down quickly beneath the hooves of his herdmates. As his altitude decreased, his dark wings pulled from his sides catching him easily and allowing him to glide further downwards towards the sands.

Gaucho kept his ears pinned against his head, trying to catch the sounds of the pair's game of chase resuming, although he would not turn his head to look.

The wind stuffed into Ampere's mouth, perhaps trying to shove the words back in for her, but too late. Still, mouth agape, she consumed the air currents, such was her disbelief as Bucephalus explained he had no interest in the fighting arts anymore. She had read his body, but not his heart, and for that she felt foolish.

Angrily (at none other than herself) she turned her head to the side, eyes burning a hole in the horizon as Gaucho and he concluded their business. She ignored anything else the Wildfire had to say, only returning her attention to the black and gold stallion when she noticed the bay one slipping away beneath her.

The act of flying, blissfully absent of Gaucho's presence, helped soothe Ampere once more. Still, she was guarded when she looked back to Bucephalus. She supposed she owed something akin to an apology, but she had never been good at those. "There is more to fighting than destruction," she said at last, quiet, so perhaps he may not have heard over their flight wind. "If you'd like, I can show you some day, but I suppose you'll be... busy with crafts for a time. We have not had many things made recently." She wasn't really sure if anything needed to be made, other than soldiers. Africa might have known, and perhaps Sohalia, but then they were mares that did not grow up as she had.

"Come on, let's rest," she said, some playfulness returning to her voice as she reached out to nip Bucephalus before flying off, intent on leading him to her preferred roosting spot.

[I thought we could end it here?]
