Aithniel had grown since being present at the death of that mare. No longer was she one to snap at the chubby daughter of time or being reduced to the silliness of playing around. She was needed by her father, the God of the Sun, to solve this crime, and she would take that seriously. The lost girl was no longer so lost. While she still felt the pains of abandonment and the desire to lash out, she knew that there was much more in store. Her suffering would pay off, and no mother who decided to ignore her could ever change that fact! Okay, maybe. She was still a child, after all.

So many had gathered to view the body when she had been standing by her father, but she couldn't look for too long. The fear of mortality was strong. How many times could she have died? Way, way too many. Aithniel knew that from now on, she needed power and strength to survive, and she needed even more to do her father's will. The light and fire was fair and just, unlike everything else in this stupid world. Fire cleansed and light revealed the cowering evil in the darkness, and none could escape such glorious strength. For too long, Aithniel had been weak, the smallest, handicapped by her wings, but no longer.

She returned to the Basin with her validation, ready to prove herself. Would they really oust a daughter of a god? Would they try to take her wings now?

Cold winds blew in through the pass that marked the entrance to the Basin, and she tucked her wings to her sides. Her thick, pale coat insulated her rather well, and whenever she got too chilly, well, all she had to do was click her heels together and she could make fire. Molten, silver eyes watched as someone passed by the massive sentinels that Rikyn's dad made, and since they didn't move, he must be an ally. Interesting.

Her ears tilted forward as they approached a steaming hot spring, calling for Erebos. She furrowed her brows. He knew Erebos? Interesting... This stranger had spots on his butt that made her want to giggle. He looked like he had snow fall on him and it never came off! Aithniel snorted white clouds of smoke and then trotted forward, stopping boldly in his way - even though she was younger, smaller and shorter. What was height to a daughter of the Sun God anyway? She didn't have to be tall to be awesome.

"Why are you looking for Erebos?" she asked pointedly. Some sort of deer was at his side, and she raised a brow slightly. "Hey, weren't you on the island? Didn't you see? Uhm... you know..."
