He laughed. Ophelia felt rage crawl up her spine, and she forced her hooves to remain rooted firmly on the ground. The glint in her two-toned gaze flamed, and she lifted her neck, squaring her shoulders as if the physical movement could protect her heart. She wanted to turn on her haunches and leave him there to his bath, but she stayed, urging him to continue speaking, to give her a reason to fight. Usually blessed with ethereal calm, Ophelia was experiencing a rare moment of temper. The words he spoke were almost mocking, and she narrowed her gaze. If he thought that she would be an exceptional leader, then why did he leave? Why did he abandon her to the wolves of the crowd - he who brought her here? "Oh, I suppose you left me there at the mercy of Deimos, d'Artagnan and Ulrik's words and scrutiny for some other purpose?" she snapped, raising a brow slightly to punctuate her irritation. Ophelia was absolutely rigid. "Or what? Couldn't handle the God of Time in the same vicinity knowing that I am the mother of his child?"
