Much had happened in a short time.
Since leaving the chaos that was the meeting of the Foothills herd, Mirage had talked with her own followers, as well as earned a gift she didn't quite know the extent of. But time would unveil all.

The inky mare climbed the peak of a mountain she had climbed so often. Memories flooded her visage, each of them varied and most of them pleasant. A familiar golden, laughing face flickered in almost every one of her memories of this place, though it was shadowed now by a dark, deceiving look of hatred. A sigh left the mare. There was nothing she could do about Brooke; the mare had evidently stolen Torasin's heart and was not about to set it loose again. Though Mirage longed to shake some sense into Torasin, she could not break what happiness he had found.

Rishima had spoken to Mirage of Torasin, though she was vague, apparently deeming it more fitting for the stallion to 'explain himself' as it were. Mirage was curious what her sister meant, and so she was this day, seeking the gilded paint. It had been too long since they had last spoken together, just the two of them. With he raising a collection of colts, and she doing her best to lead the Qian, there was little opportunity for their paths to cross without interruption. But maybe, just maybe, today they might be lucky.

A gentle call was let loose across the Fields. The mare felt sadness for the ugly scars that marred their colourful celebration of the sun, a charred, scorched path cut by flames of the Sun God's own fury. Could he not see that he scorched the very flowers which relied on his light to survive? He had such little respect and love for the mortals he hoped to rule, it was no wonder he had been unpopular of late. The balance had been shifted, too much into his favour, and now he was paying the penalties; exile, Mirage had heard. Exile from the lands that allowed the Gods to call themselves Gods.

Still, should Mirage ever cross his path again, she would treat him with the same deference she had treated the Gods of Earth and Moon. A small sigh escaped her, as the mare idly twitched her tail, and hoped she would soon be joined by a painted friend, just as Akaith looked forward to seeing the young brown that was eternally bound to him.

[ I figured we can set this before the meeting, and Mirage and Tor can talk about Tor's adventures and new magics etc? ^^ ]

Torasin mulched around in a depressed sort of silence. The golden steed didn't only have problems with Rishima but... It appeared he was destined to live life as a lonesome outcast. It would be safe to say that he felt curling up in a corner and blissfully dying in his sleep. It seemed the most simple way out of it all. Brooke appeared to have left him again, but this time it hurt more. Torasin knew he could never let her back into his life again and that sheer fact tore him to pieces. No matter how much she broke his heart there was always a part of him that would love Brooke. However, their partnership was over and the painted stallion was now left on his own again. His sons would not be around forever, and Torasin was already thinking about suggesting they join a herd.

His mane ruffled as Kiba landed upon his withers, the brown's simple companionship saving Torasin from crumbling to pieces. The rocky trail that led to his most favoured place in the Wilds was laid out before him, the paint contemplating making the journey.

His decision was made for him however when a oh so familiar call came floating from the top. In an instance his thoughts turned to Mirage and he found it funny for a moment. Funny that, it would be here that his beloved friend would call for him. It is the most obvious place he thought aimlessly as feelings of apprehension took over him. Would she think him a traitor? Torasin stared at the trail for a few minutes and contemplated his thoughts, Kiba seeming eager to go meet the pair. Taking in a deep breath, the paint pushed aside all warring thoughts and began up the path.

If Mirage cannot forgive me... No one will.

With that in mind, Torasin found it a little easier to go greet the familiar appearance of Mirage and Akaith once he reached the top. Kiba flying off, trilling through the air in a colourful greeting to the golden queen of dragons. Tor's soft sooty maw twitched into a smile as he walked across the heavenly field, although this smile didn't quite have the vigour of its usual carefree appearance. "Mirage! Akaith! It's been a while since we've all been here..." His voice trailed off as he looked out over the landscape, remembering the memories fondly. Although they were not all that long ago, it seemed they had come a long way since that first meeting.

Torasin gently touched Mirage's soft nose before moving his head towards their bonded and wondered idly if his sons were behaving.

[Sure! Have a depressed Tor hehe :3]

With some pleasure Mirage was informed of the approaching stallion, her golden sights lit up as she directed her chiselled tiara to the entrance of the Fields. Akaith chortled atop her withers, detecting the joyful nots of Kiba's mind during the pair's ascent.

But when the mare's sharp gaze did get a hold of the stallion, she swiftly absorbed all there was to him. Torasin, her ever-happy friend, had allowed his mask to slip today. Immediately Mirage felt concern for him swell up within her, she longed to rush towards him and nudge whatever it was that had happened out of him. Akaith lifted herself from Mirage's back as the mare stepped forth to welcome the stallion's caress, he was one of very few whose touch she would never deny.

"Indeed, it has been too long since we revisited the realm where I made my first friend in these lands." A warm whicker rumbled from her chest, the mare wanted to make it plainly clear just how much this golden painted steed meant to her. Still she found her heartstrings pulled to him constantly, though it was a different pull to that she felt for Vikram, there was still a lot of love there. He was her best friend.

"What is it that causes a shadow to fall across my dearest friend's façade this day, Torasin? Are Abel and Nym well?" The mare could not bring herself to inquire about his mate, not directly. But the colts, by some unwritten, unspoken agreement, were protected by the Qian, no matter who their mother might be.. Mirage found herself caring for them if only because they were Torasin's children. If something was affecting them, she knew within her heart that it could be the cause for unrest within the gilded steed.. She also knew of another possible cause, but she had clung to her hopes that Brooke had grown beyond her constant drifting to settle, and provide her beloved friend with some happiness, and love, to cling to.

Concern evident in her gaze, the mare nudged at the stallion's thick nape, pleading into his emeradine pools with her own golden stare, hoping he would drop his constant mask of happiness to confide her in, like he had all those seasons ago when they had first crossed paths in these very Heavenly Fields.
