GAUCHO

I'M THE END OF A HITCHCOCK MOVIE
A LITTLE DARK AND A LOT CONFUSING.

Of course she didn't linger long. He hadn't expected her to, although he couldn't deny that he felt a sense of disappointment grip and pull at his chest as she rolled away, the enigmatic blue of her limbs no longer pressed against his own. Had some part of him thought she would halt, put aside the game they had started for a different one? One that surely they had both thought of playing many times? I'll let you in on a little secret, one that likely only Mara knows, for Gaucho would never admit to such a thing: while part of him was disappointed to see the Blue go, part of him was relieved. Had Ampere stayed and had their lust pulled them from the sky to the land, drowning them in a flurry of feathers and excitement, then what? What would the moment after hold? As it was, an absurd amount of sexual tension still thrummed around the two like some innate force each time they were near to one another (and half the time even when they weren't). It should have broken long before now but it hadn't. To allow that force, so strong, robust, and determined to shatter over and around them as they succumbed to their base desires and longings for one another would be to invite disaster. The unknown. Would they be lovers? Or would the heat of the moment cool so quickly that the mere sight of one another would suddenly have the opposite effect; they would continue to mentally groan in the presence of the other, but now for quite different reasons.

Was the desire to fuel and release the fire burning within their bellies worth the risk?

Funny. If you were to ask Mara what she thought on the matter, she might begrudgingly point out that if Gaucho was only interested in Ampere sexually these thoughts wouldn't even concern him. And usually when the thought of losing someone overcomes one's desire to simply possess them ... well usually we call that something different. Something like love.

As she rolled beneath him the moment which stretched out for her continued in regular time for him, allowing Gaucho only a brief window to peer into the electric sparkle of her gaze before she had come out of her spin. His large wings beat energetically as he tried to put more distance between the two. Ampere was likely faster than he, but perhaps if he could siphon off some of that speed by forcing her to waste it catching up to him, they would be on equal footing. Gaucho felt an odd tingling racing through what felt like the very flesh of his wings. It felt cold and hindering, as if he was suddenly flying through an invisible blizzard. But Ampere didn't have frost magic, did she? What.. ? As much as he strained to continue beating his wings at their previous rate, his body wouldn't listen. It was as though the mental commands were taking their time reaching his limbs, and in turn, his limbs were taking their time reacting. Snorting, Gaucho tossed his head and shoulders as if that somehow would break the hold that had fallen over his wings, but to no avail.

He could both hear and see her gaining on him due to the reduction of his speed, and it became clear that whatever power had slowed his flight had been her doing. Clenching his teeth, both annoyed and amused by his opponent's tactical advantage, Gaucho decided to find out if her hold was merely over his muscle. As his wings moved towards his hooves and out again with painful slowness an arc of fire exploded from his already flaming feathers. He might not be able to outdistance her at this rate, but there was more that he could do to quickly change his position. As the warm air rose all around him Gaucho tucked his left wing to his flank as Ampere's outstretched hooves raced towards his right. The fiery air tilted and raised his body, moving him up and to the left. It was just enough to avoid the full extent of Ampere's hooves. He felt the hardened curve of her hooves slam against his right thigh, causing the muscle to clench and groan in pain, further shoving him left.

Allowing his body to naturally curve around to the left, Gaucho felt his wings becoming more and more responsive. Tilting his body backwards slightly, he beat his wings once again issuing another wall of flames to flow, directed where Ampere had likely ricocheted from him. He hoped the heat from his flames would balance whatever power she had used upon him, buying him time until his wings were fully under his control once again.
