always a villain

Curiosity killed the cat. It was a good thing Brisé was not a nosy soul or she might have instigated the brute with questions. When he did not offer an answer to her unasked question about his horn she did not pry. She did not study it again and let any thought of the broken shaft leave her mind instantaneously. Though he did not answer as soon as she looked away Brisé could feel his gaze raking her feminine form. An amused smile stole her lips just long enough to give the brute a chance to see it. All stallions were the same in one way or another. New legs meant a new chance at victory. But when Brisé looked back at him she did not see the usual drool or lust, just a bit of dark amusement.

His smile did not throw her off guard as it normally would have. No, Brisé was interested now. This one was definitely an odd breed of male. He was not arrogant or rude, yet anyway. Should he have been a danger he would have made a move already and Brisé made a rather unlikely decision. She let go of her rigid posture and lowered her head so their eyes were level. Brisé was letting her guard down for a few moments to see what he would do. While her face still gave away no expression her eyes were daunting and only slightly cautious.

When he frowned at her comments she could not help but stifle a stiff laugh. His tone was not mocking, but quite the opposite actually. Brisé perked her ears listening to the clear confusion ringing through his voice. "I woke up with everything still intact. That fancy portal of yours that surrounds the lands here took my memories for safekeeping. Tragic is not the word for it, inconvenient is. Though I must say, I am grateful for the chance to start over." Her tone remained flat and indifferent throughout her reply, but Brisé did look squarely at him the entire time she was speaking.

As he spoke again Brisé listened intently. She did not interrupt him and let her questions slip away from her mind before answering. He made it seem remote and isolated from the rest of this world. With stone guardians it did not seem as though newcomers were embraced where he had come from. D'Artagnan was describing her ideal home without even knowing it. This time when she smiled it lingered all throughout her reply to the stallion before her.

"You have just explained a heaven on earth. I will take you up on that offer of an escort. But first, can I inquire about that silver tattoo of yours?" Brisé did not speak with any shame as she scanned over the brute's metallic markings.

OOC| He is such a cool character! Brisé can actually tolerate him lol @[d'Artagnan]
