"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

When Liriel accepted, both Elsa and Edgar were visibly relieved. For so long everyone she's tried to convince has been whisked away, and now, she could finally bring another potential friend. In her mind, the more the merrier. Edgar as the first to "formally" try to befriend her. He flew down to near the little pegasus tilting his head and peeping, before Elsa called him back. He wanted to ride with the new girl, and Elsa's jealousy creeped in, but she had to admit, she seemed pretty nice. Offering a bow to Sikeax, Elsa turned to address the mare once more. "The Falls is just to the north, a quick fly, if you will." She said, and Elsa took a few running steps before gliding into the air. Her body wasn't as aerodynamic, but she could keep up pretty easy considering this flight would be a lot less energy-consuming.
A little time passed, and soon enough the mountains rise before them. Each flap of the wings bring them closer to the towering hills and roaring Falls. Elsa glances below, and motions to a large waterfall that covers the base of the mountain. "Be lucky that you can fly, otherwise we'd have to go down there." She said with mock horror. She's been through that way, and she always got drenched. It was slightly annoying, but also kind of fun! Elsa turned back, hoping that Liriel was trailing closely behind.
It was mere moments later that Elsa angled herself down. The wind pushed her down and she landed gracefully among a field of lush grasses. They swayed slightly in the springtime air, and this was by far the tastiest grasses of them all. Waiting until Liriel landed, she began to introduce the pegasus to her new home. "Well, this is the Falls." A small smile of contentment settled upon her face. Edgar on the other hand, took off into the air to chase butterflies. The whole initiation thing bored him to death, but he stuck close by just incase Liriel decided to shower him in attention again. "I know you mentioned back at the Threshold, you'd like to be a medic, right?" She queried. If that was so, there were two perfectly capable people to mentor her in that field. Not to mention, it was a field that Elsa was sure she'd be thankful for here in the future.
I watch Elsa take off, excitement flooding me. I take flight after her, my wings groaning in protest. Perhaps my mind had forgotten its fatigue, but my body hadn’t. I’m relieved that Elsa’s home is only a short flight away; although I love flying, I can’t wait to land only moments after I’ve launched into the air. It’ll take a few days’ rest to reverse the effects of the frightened flight I’d taken across the oceans. I fly just a nose behind Elsa, my eyes wandering everywhere. From up above, Helovia stretches out as far as I can see and wave after wave of verdant forests and meadows pan out below. And suddenly the smooth landscape shoots up into tall mountains with morning mist still clinging to their peaks.
Crystal ribbons of water lace the towering rocks and even from the sky I can hear the thunderous roar of the falls. The land is beautiful and in that instant, I know I’ve made the right choice. I laugh quietly at Elsa’s commentary, following her past the curtain of water that seems to act as a gate to her home. When we land amidst bright emerald fields, I find myself overwhelmed by my new home. I twirl around on the spot, drinking in all that my eyes can see as though I’m suddenly afraid that if I don’t see it all now it will disappear. I hear Elsa begin her introductions and I turn back, a radiant smile lighting up my face. “It’s more beautiful than I imagined.”
I watch Edgar flutter away after some butterflies, amused by his antics and soothed by just how normal everything seemed. I nod in agreement to Elsa’s statement. Out of the choices she’d offered, medic had called to me. I’ve always wanted to make a difference and put myself in a position to help others. It excites me to learn, for I know bits and pieces of healing theory and I can rattle off the names of medicinal plants that I’ve learned through following my father in his studies, but I’ve never been able to actually practice it or know the subject fully. “Yes. I think I’d fit in best as a medic. Helping others has always been a passion of mine.” I pause, the expression on my face turning thoughtful. “How do I get started?
It was nice to have someone who appreciated the beauty the Falls had. She seemed genuinely excited to be here, which was and even more welcome trait. Very few were so eager to get started, most had problems they needed to work through, or they dive in rather quickly. She was taking her time, enjoying the journey, yet being prompt all at the same time. She wondered how such a simple girl could have all of that wrapped into one shining personality.
Elsa smiled at her eagerness to become a medic. Although Elsa had no knowledge of healing herbs, the two Medics here were more than capable of showing her exactly what she needed to do to learn. "Well, welcome to the medic route." She finished with a wink, turning to see if she could spot anyone who would know to get her to the Medics. No one was around, but Elsa could give her the names so she could go seek them out herself. "Africa and Kiara are the ones you should seek out. Kiara is an equine, and Africa is a one-winged pegasus. I'm pretty sure they hang around here a lot, so you're bound to run into them at some point." She said with a shrug. Sometimes Elsa wondered if it would just be easier to give everyone trackers, so she could hunt down those she needed. Although, that would be slightly stalker-ish.
Edgar, who had tired of his adventure rather quickly swooped down to plop back onto Elsa's head. He settled down between her ears, and looked like a fat, fluffy stuffed bird. Elsa smirked, poor thing thought he was going to get more attention. "Until then, do you have any questions or anything you'd like to know?" She finished quietly. If the mare had any questions, Elsa would answer. However, if Liriel was ready to explore, Elsa would not keep her here talking for long.
"Talking"
@[liriel] her rank can be changed to Hidden Falls Educatrix now. ^^
I’m overwhelmed. It’s mostly joy inside of me, but I’d be lying to myself if I ignored the twinges of fear and guilt and sadness that swirled in with it. With every step further I take into Helovia, I know I’m moving farther from my home and from the memories of my father. Some dutiful daughter part of me feels as though I should have haunted the Threshold until my father arrived, safe from harm like he promised her would. I know the chances of ever seeing him again are slim and that he’d want me to move on and make my home here, but I’m still young and I’ve never been on my own. I look back to Elsa and Edgar and their friendly, accepting demeanors and although it pains me to do so, I push those dark thoughts deep down to be dealt with at a later time. Hidden Falls is my home now. I retrieve my smile and offer it to the wintry mare.
I store away the names of the Medics: Kiara and Africa. I startle slightly at the mention of Africa’s one wing and I’m suddenly curious, but I doubt it is a story told to strangers and I know my place so I don’t ask. Elsa probably told me so that I don’t gawk when I meet her, although my father taught me better than that. “Okay, I’ll keep an eye out for them.” From here, Hidden Falls looks to be large and I wonder just how many others share this land. I’m excited to meet them.
Edgar plops between Elsa’s ears and I giggle lightly at his antics. I hope I’ll see the two of them frequently, though I can feel our current meeting drawing to an end. I find myself slightly anxious to explore and to see all that I can within the Falls, but when Elsa asks if I have any questions I don’t hesitate. “Just one, I think. Where do I go from here? There’s so much to see and do and so many to meet.”
There was much to discover here, and the mare would have to do it most on her own. Elsa was much to tired to give the tour in its full grandeur so this little pow-wow would have to work. It was okay, for she believed there were enough horses within the Falls to keep her company. Edgar on the other hand, was continually whining in her head that he wanted to go with her. He wanted to watch her learn everything about the Falls like he did. He was so in awe of everything, and he still remembers it like it was yesterday. It didn't help that she laughed at him either, to bird was way to self-centered to be taking compliments. It was amusing though, to say the least.
Although Elsa expected a lot of questions, she was please with Liriel's quick one. What was she to do next? Well, that question in and of itself can't really be answered. "Anywhere you want to go, you can go. Anything you want to do, you can do. Although if you want to get to know some of the other members here, I suggest you go seek them out for conversation." She said with a small smile. "Most of them don't bite." She said with a wink, it was always fun to put a little seed of confusion in their head. Was she lying, or was she telling the truth? That was the question.
Turning her head to look out to the Falls, she sighed. It was beautiful, and she wished she could do more, but alas her energy was being zapped rather quickly by these treks out. "Anything else? If not, feel free to go on your way. I would escort you in normally, but I need to rest a little bit." She felt rather pathetic saying that, but it wasn't the easiest of things to waddle around all day.
