A low tune fluttered from Ampere as she coasted over the sands, her series of whistles and hums light hearted and gentle. It was the song her mother had always sung when she was in a good mood. She let her movements sway and flow with the melody, drifting to and fro on the wind, lost in the music and the warmth of the sun that was starting to erase the grip of Frostfall.

"This feels good," she thought with a smile, eyes flickering shut for brief intervals, trusting in her wings and the wind. Sometimes you just had to let go of all the shit you were holding onto. It didn't mean it wouldn't come back, or more wouldn't arrive, but you needed those moments of peace. It was why Ampere had been more than happy to help set up for the festival. She thought the festival itself was not only important for paying respects to the Sun, but that it gave the herd a chance to let go. They were on alert so often, they needed this.

When her eyes opened she had to swerve suddenly to avoid colliding with a tall tree. her tune gave out a strangled note before being cut off, wings pumping to regain altitude and direction as she went careening towards the sands. She glanced over her shoulder at the structure, spying some fuzzy dangling balls under its fronds. "Coconuts!" she exclaimed, turning on her left wing, and rising in a spiral to the top of the tree. She circled it a few times before precariously landed upon its top, the slender edifice swaying beneath her.

Her hooves gripped the tree loosely, her magic working to try and pull the coconuts off, but she kept getting interrupted by having to focus on her balance. "Stand still damn you," she muttered at the wagging vegetation.

If there were ever a time Cera was grateful for Ilaria being off looking over Ryuu, it was when he encountered Ampere. The patched boy had no trouble with the fierce woman, of course, but he doubted she would peacefully listen to his tales over finding Ilaria half dead in the Throat and would still claim him to have forced the bond upon his beloved companion. Oh, tales of the blue traveled fast, but Cera withheld any other judgment until he met her officially. It seemed that time would be rather soon, seeing as she was apparently attempting to gather coconuts for the party in the process of being planned. Cera had happily volunteered himself for anything, and it was easy to see that nobody else was around to help the deeply painted lady with her endeavors.

Striding across the sand, the Prince squinted against the rays of the sun to peer up at the horse perched upon the tree. It was...certainly a sight, to say the least. Moving to stand beneath the shade, casting her form into naught but a shadow, the Prince called up to her. "Can I help somehow, miss Ampere?" he called, hoping she would not be startled by the fact he was aware of her name. It was hard not to, especially after she'd been promoted, but Cera knew he had often been taken by surprise when nameless faces had called out his name with an air of familiarity. It came with the job, he supposed.

Notes: Sorry for the lateness/shortness!

A voice drifted up through the roller coaster that was the tree, her ears spinning around as she tried to follow it, and learn its owner. Eventually the branch threw her, wings slapping the air hurriedly so she didn't fall. Haphazardly she spared a glance down, spying a stallion she recognized, but couldn't fairly say that she knew. Her best impression of him was the meeting where he stormed off after a rank change, though he seemed in a much more amicable mood today.

In a flurry of feathers she landed back on the bucking branches, getting a mouthful of frond as she did so. "YES!" she yelled back to him, her tone a short, tired sound as she continued to wrestle with the foliage. This was probably not the best way to gather coconuts, but she had never tried before and by now it was just personal.

"Can you gather them!" she called out, more of a statement than a question. She'd hoped moving the tree would be enough to shake them out, but they held on fast. Time to speed this up, or spark it up anyway she thought with gritted determination as her magic waltzed forward. Gently she poked around the forces she felt like a heartbeat, searching for the thread which connected the fruit to the tree, and then turning it into electricity. With bright fizzes and pops the coconuts began to fall.

She probably could have gotten a fair bit of them on the ground in this way, but it was easier to find the hidden ones up in the thick of it, and well, she never was one to back down from a challenge.
"Have you any magic that can help?" she asked of him partway through, growing weary of such finesse requiring work and focus.

Had it been anyone but Ampere, the frazzled yell that came barreling back at him in answer would have been far more amusing. To be fair it still was, but Cera contained himself to a tight smile and glittering emeralds. There was no need to provoke the already frustrated mare, after all. She'd likely fly down and kick his ass flat into the earth just for the cathartic qualities. Her request was terse, though understandably so. It wasn't a pleasing prospect, just because he didn't want to get knocked silly in the head by a coconut while he collected those already on the ground, but he was otherwise useless to her.

"Of course!" he called up in reply. Digging a quick, shallow pit to keep them gathered in some semblance of order, Cera went to work corralling the round little buggers and rolling them into the pit he'd made. As he'd suspected, he had to evade falling coconuts, and by the time Ampere had decided she needed a new tactic his feathers were understandably ruffled from the near-hits.

His only distraction was her words, and he sheepishly winced from where she could not see him. Though, how many truly had magic that could have helped in this case? He tried to comfort himself for feeling so useless. "No, sorry! Is there anything else I can do?" he yelled back at her, collecting and rolling the new round of coconuts from where her magic had sent them speeding like furry brown comets to the sand.

Guess it was time to play another round of dodge-the-coconut. Was this her way of killing him and not getting in trouble? He had to admit, it was rather creative.
