So this is where her new adventure begins...
Astrasza's wings scoop at the air greedily as she glides into unfamiliar territory (her new home). Her form carving a bizarre cross in the sky that grows in size as she slowly descends on the new land.
Hmm, Buce was right, it is nice weather out here... for now."
In fact not only was it not hot out, it was dreadfully chilly. The cold encroached on her body, her face and chest blasted by icy wings as she flies. Stripping her flesh from all precious heat. She watches the sand dunes as they go by, even from up here the land looks like nothing but an endless ocean of sand. But at least she can fly. The copper mare can only pity those who are grounded. Never will they know the limitless skies, never will they see the beauty of a sunrise miles above the trees and clouds. Never can learn to they brave the wolf that cannot catch them from up here.

The copper mare prepares to land as she draws ever closer to the ground. Her wings arch to slow her speed as she hovers over the ground. Then just before touch down she braces herself, her wings flutter forward, her head drops and her back legs reach for the ground. Her hooves skid in the sand as she comes to a stop on the ground. Her feathers bristle and she shakes away the stress of the flight before letting her wings close and rest on her back.
Now what some sort of trouble could she get into on her first day as a throat recruit? Well not much if there's no one around, heh. With that Astrasza raises her nose to the sky and calls out "Yoodelay hee hooo!" After all, if she's going to live in the desert, she's gonna get to know peeps and do something with the insignia on her chest. Astrasza's ears perk and a smile wraps itself around her muzzle, she looks around waiting for anyone to show up and.. well show her the ropes!

No Time for Lies and Empty Fights

It can’t be...

A mare was riding spring thermals above the Throat, bathed bronze brown in the sunlight with streamers of flaxen golden trailing in wake of her flight; she looked small, stocky, like a tank built for war.

Kri...

Brilliant wingspan unfurled as Hector hurled himself from a limestone cliff (a post to which he was often assigned), far north of the oasis and he gave chase through the bitter desert skies like a ravenous wolf might a doe. Had the Resolute returned after years missing - lost without word or trace? He strained forward through burly shoulders; thrusting more vigorously each beat than he had for months and months. Sinew rippled beautifully beneath the sheen of copper and sweat beaded across it, and ribbon tendrils the same hue as his coat snapped violently as the wind hastened by.

Kri began to descend and it filled the loyal warrior with excitement. He dipped down his wings in pursuit, and rocketed recklessly from the heavens with forelegs strained ahead, ready to collect the gravel desert as is rushed forward to meet him. With a second to spare, the giant flared each radiant feather like a brilliant parachute and his plunge ended abruptly, as close as he dared to the mare – but startled unexpectedly when the trail of her unfamiliar voice tickled pricked ears.

Veci, a Dragon? he probed cautiously at his bonded, set solidly by then across flexing knees nearby. But the Boggart had not seen her before either.

She was bronzed beautifully, as though the breath of the sun had cured her to perfection – Kri was coloured mahogany, like the ancient timber in a forest. This mare’s eyes were far bluer too, reflecting the pure grace of their wonderland above as her fine skull shrank back from the ringing call, down to earth. Hector snorted briskly, eyeing her carefully, with his horned face tilted to the side. Perhaps the most startling difference (and one he was hardly pleased to have overlooked), was the splay of feathers set above the cascade of her fair tail – the Resolute certainly sported no such decoration.

"Ai!" He greeted chivalrously enough after the long moment spent considering her, with wings spread upwards in a traditional Pegasi salute. "Hector, Dragon Soldier on patrol." Turning his stoic expression square upon her, the Tribrid stepped forward and folded his wings close against each flank.

Astrasza doesn't have to wait long at all, she hadn't noticed the stallion following her until her drifting eyes notice someone's shadow over her that is not her own. She spins around on all fours to see a bright red form hurling itself towards her like a falcon on prey. She is not afraid, but rather shocked into a primal state of battle mode. Astrasza squares off the stallion. Her body tenses and poised, wings arched, her ears flatten to her skull. She's withdrawn like a serpent ready to strike, firmly holding her ground. "Whoa, whoa, whoa don't do it. Don't you do it, pal." She utters to herself as she watches him. Suddenly the stallion puts on the breaks mid stoop and watches her. Ok, so he's not out to kill her then?
Astrasza keeps her front to the stallion, staring him down as he stares right back, but she walks a sideways shuffle away from him, slow and calm. Surrendering her space to him to reassure him that she is not looking for trouble, but if he pushes her she'll go out with her teeth latched to his throat.

Finally the stallion lands, presenting himself to her with a far less chaotic approach, putting her worries to ease. Astrasza catches a breath, letting her wings settle over her back again and her legs come together to straighten her body up. "Yo! Astrasza, throat newbie! What's up, pal!?" She yelled back to him "What's the big hurry there, eh? Thought you was gonna come rail me into the dirt the way you was flyin' there, bud." She lets herself wander closer to the red stallion. Her heart still races, shaken from the rush of adrenaline. Her attention is fully alert and on him, it seems for now he means her no harm.
The gap between them closes and her blue eyes have to look higher and higher at her welcomer. And higher. Shit, and I thought Buce was tall, But this stallion's head blocks out the sun as they come face to face. His body is all length. As if someone had taken each bit of his body and pulled it till it stretched. But what truly surprises Astrasza is the pair of arched horns on his face. One on his forehead and a smaller one atop his muzzle. Astrasza finds herself slightly intimidated, but masks the feeling under a calm stand and casual voice.
Her eyes are plastered to the soldier's pair of horns, like some ignorant child who was never disciplined for staring at someone's unusual features. What's with them horns on ya face? Aint ever seen nothin' like that, you part rhino?" Then of course she compliments her rude staring with a rude comment.
Not that she means any harm of course, but her sour mouth has no restraints.

OOC: She's actually suppose to be more of that mahogany color you mentioned :O I looked up the color and realized that's exactly the color I'm shooting for in her description. I'm aiming for the liver chestnut color with a dark, rich red kind of coat almost a slight purple hue. I'm not too good with color descriptions though, if there's a better name for it.
http://equusamor.deviantart.com/art/Desert-502855746 Here's a a solid sort of color for her.

No Time for Lies and Empty Fights

Pal?

Fiery eyes peered between bent ivory and curiosity pooled in their midst. Hector examined the striking creature, Astrasza, as she sauntered closer with wings folded neatly across her back. Even as her small, stocky frame shifted beneath the sunlight the colour of her coat seemed to darken, flashing silken locks about her face glimmered, though it was her eyes that held him truly captivated. The mare’s voice shattered the cool tranquillity of their home and his wandering thoughts with a rough confidence that both intrigued and stunned him – and drew instantly the interest of the Boggart.

Veci slithered closer like a kitten might a moth, testing the tolerance of the stallion always.

"Well met, Astrasza," he answered smoothly, evidently less ruffled than she, though his narrowing eyes switched momentarily towards his bonded; the air between her legs was rippling most inconspicuously, and Hector snorted softly, Veci.... "Welcome to the land of the Sun." So squat was she, that as the distance diminished between them, Hector’s large decorated skull, craned left to view her properly. He barely noticed her fixation – not with the flickering apparition of a rattlesnake coiling between them.

Vaguely he answered, "Not rhino...

Veci!

Please, excuse the naughty Boggart."
Ordinarily Hector made no effort to reveal the existence of his companion; it was too hard to explain that the thin air between them was actually a living organism... In this instance however, he lifted a powerful knee and struck heavily at the snide illusion and it disintegrated promptly. "He has no manners at all..."
