"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

O B E R O N For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
Okay, so maaaaaaaybe he wasn’t cut out for herd life. At least, just not yet. He had been rather close to having a herd for the first time in, well...forever. But he had to muck it up. So was the nature of his life. He’d take this punch and just roll with it. Regardless, he had had time to recover from his flight from Aeon many months ago, though he had yet to recover from the loss of the son he never got to know. I never even got to know his name…
Blinking, the painted stallion was suddenly aware of his whereabouts and where his wandering hooves had carried him. Oberon wasn’t entirely sure what brought him to this place, but he couldn’t complain about the current predicament. The weather was currently calm for the time being, which was a great boon. He could tolerate the mild temperature for calm weather. Even though he was certain that the calm weather would not last the entire day, as it was in the nature of warmer seasons to storm, he did not let it dampen his good mood. With a crooked grin, the painted stallion pushed forward into the field, humming softly to himself. Flanked by nothing but grass and clouds, there was a comfort that the quiet that the field provided that he hadn’t experienced in a long time.
The winged stallion paused in his meandering walk, allowing his bright blue eyes to look up to the clear sky for a brief moment before they settled on the field that now surrounded him. There was a fleeing spark of curiosity as the stallion regarded the clouds, pondering on what exactly the clouds hid from view – was there more hidden behind their billowy cover? – or even if there were other winged horses like himself frolicking behind them. After a few silent moments, Oberon shrugged the though off in dismissal, turning his gaze back to his immediate surroundings. There was something lurking about, that much he was certain about. It was hard to deny that there was other life around him, other equines even, when the smells were still so strong. The real question that sat idly in the back of the pegasus’s mind was how long he would remain undisturbed.
notes: Just wanted Oberon to get some action. :3

M Y R R I N E
It wasn't long before she had returned to the Heavenly Fields. The endless meadow of fresh flowers and wild forest creatures appealed to the filly more than anything else could. Her steps were light as she frolicked back in, her wings fluttering upon her back in the sheer joy of the moment. Her hazel eyes were attentive to her surroundings, and she kept a close eye on her pacing as she finally reached what she thought was a sufficient spot. Working herself to a graceful halt, Myrrine took one final glance around to see if the coast was clear, letting her nostrils flare in determination before she readied herself. Today was the day she was going to fly.
Pawing the earth with precison, her focus was only straight ahead, lungs taking in air evenly so as to keep herself calm and focused. She was silent, drowning out the noise of the birds, the insects, and the windy breeze that blew her fuzzy tresses that would soon shine like silk. She wasn't going to mess this up, not this time, there was just so much in store for her once she finally was able to spread her wings. Pressing her chin to her chest, she took in a final breath, holding it for only a moment, before releasing it as she bolted off. Her gangly legs had trouble at first, nearly tripping over each other before she finally regained balance and speed, looking only ahead to her goal.
Large, butterfly wings began to pump down, fighting against the air pressure as they began their attempts at sending their master up off the ground. Faster and faster they moved, working to their max strength, all to aid the spotted one in her goal. She was almost ready, she just needed a little more speed. Her legs were taking longer strides to make up for them beginning to tire, and with one final push she lifted off the ground, spreading her wings fully to let a current glide beneath them. After a few seconds she was flapping again, gaining slight altitude before landing back on her hooves. She kept her pace, running despite the fact her legs were burning from the stress, and with another attempt she got higher, flapping twice before curling in her legs and attempting to glide.
The breeze whipped through her mane, and a smile graced her lips as she flapped once again, trying to keep her momentum so she wouldn't crash down. Sadly such is fate that her wings should give out on her. Down she went, crashing into the tall grass and tumbling forward, just like she had all the times before. She finally slowed her descent, skidding to a halt and laying on her side for a brief moment. Her small sides heaved from the adrenaline in her system, and from the rush of finally being in the air. How exhilirating it had been! Until she face-planted back on the ground. After a few more minutes, she finally decided it was time to get up.
Heaving her delicate frame back onto all fours, Myrrine turned, dusting off her black and white coat with her black colored maw. She closed her eyes, relaxing her muscles in an attempt to catch her breath, before finally looking at the world again and moving herself forward. She favored her right leg suddenly, turning to see she had scratched her shoulder on a rock. A grimace graced her complexion, but she decided she'd be fine, as it was only a minor cut, and began to work herself back into a position to try flying again.
