The darkness that had fallen over Helovia had seemed to lift, but it had not been erradicated. The murders had stopped and yet members of the Edge still seemed to be walking on eggshells. The tension felt more thick and uncomfortable than it had before the murders had stopped, but it did not stop Evangeline from wandering around her home. It made her hard to find, but she hadn't been needed by anyone for quite some time. She had not seen or heard from Kaj since Thor had fought with the golden stallion from the Basin. And Kahlua hadn't called on her since ... she couldn't remember the last time she'd spoken to the queen.
Evangeline sighed as she moved through the trees, a frown marring her pretty face. She felt strange, out of place, and a little unwanted and unneeded. For a time she had been called upon so frequently and now it was like she was a ghost walking among the Edge's misty trees. Tallis was silent as he flew overhead, his black eyes searching the ground below for anything that might be a threat to his bonded, but he found no threat. Only the Silly Queen looking a bit more round than usual.
'Silly Queen.' He alerted his bonded. He perched in one of the trees overlooking Kahlua and directed Evangeline until she found Kahlua.
"Kahlua..." Evangeline murmured the queen's name, her green eyes taking in the round belly that she sported. Had Kaj finally been able to return Kahlua's love? She pretended not to feel a small pang of jealousy and, instead, tilted her head as she looked to the black and white mare. "I suppose congratulations are in order?"
