"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

Okay, it was time. She needed to stop procrastinating.
Mikey probably knew already, he had sired children before and there was certainly no secret between them how it would have happened, but now she knew for sure and she wanted to confirm the thought with him. That was what someone who was in love would do, right? They would run to the stallion that they love and tell them the happy, happy news. So that was what she was going to do… more or less.
It was dusk, and she made her way to their usual spot - the nest-like area where the grass was longer than all other spots because of the nourishment that her hooves provided the earth as she stood there. In the late spring, there were flowers of red and purple and white that blossomed among the long blades as well. It was a beautiful little spot.
A perfect nest for two love-birds.
Hemlock had disappeared into the woods as he often did now, preferring to stay at a distance while she performed her charade with Mikey. He was thrilled at the news... if only it had been with a father that he had approved. He was staying a little closer, wanting to keep an eye on Aly, but not too close.
The stars were starting to twinkle into existence overhead and Alysanne knew he’d be along any minute - he wouldn’t keep her waiting. He was too kind for that and he loved her too much.
The worrisome frown that commanded her expression whenever they were apart was replaced with a peaceful smile in preparation for his arrival.
The telling swell of her stomach was hidden by the folds of her wings, something she appreciated greatly. She should have told him first, of course, but things had happened so quickly when she had shown up at the site of the last murder. Now, hoping that everything had worked out with Archibald’s little girl, she settled in to wait for him - the love of her life.
The growing twist in her stomach worsened as she tried to force her thoughts into the direction her actions were being forced to go. If only she could believe her own fake emotions, everything would be so much simpler.

Alysanne &
Miykael
Every day seemed a little brighter. All the weight that had been weighing him down seemed to just disappear that day. In truth, it had been the best day of his life - better, even, than anything he could remember from his childhood. Before that day, he had begun to dread dusk's arrival and it always seemed so quick to approach. Now that he longed for the nightly cuddles with Aly, the day never seemed to end. It was agonizing. Torture, even. As much as he enjoyed the daytime, especially now that the heat of Tallsun was upon them, he couldn't wait to be by her side again.
Eliana, of course, highly disagreed. So when the sky began to darken, the sun drifting down below the horizon, she grumbled her annoyance. 'See lights?' she asks through the bond, referring to the northern lights that could be seen from the frostbreath steppe. They had taken to frequenting them at night, as a way to avoid the pain that the sight of Alysanne brought to Miykael. "Not tonight, Ellie. Maybe we can go tomorrow?" he offers, attempting to bargain with her. The zephyr fluffed her feathers, disappointment clear in her silver eyes. She could feel his joy, though, and as much as she wanted to block it out or pull him away from Aly; she couldn't dwell on her own irritation. Ellie snuggled in between his folded wings, playing idly with the locks of mane that she could reach. Sighing contentedly, Miykael took one last look at the sunset shimmering over the sea from where he stood near the edge of the cliffs. With the heat of the day dissipating and the stars beginning to light up the sky, Miykael turned and began the short journey to the little 'love nest' he shared with Alysanne every night.
It wasn't long before his blue eyes saw the familiar form of the black and white mare. She stands amongst the taller grasses, as she usually does. He pauses near the edge of the trees, blue eyes taking everything in. Hemlock was already gone but Miykael didn't think anything of it; the little owl typically avoided him. Exhaling softly in a sigh, contentment sweeps over him. Eliana flies from her perch upon his back and heads up into the trees - likely seeking the small owl's company.
Miykael lingers for a moment longer, watching the painted mare fondly as a warm smile curves his lips. His eyes soften and his tender heart stutters. As the sky continues to darken, the stars seem to shine brighter and in the light of the moon Alysanne practically glows. There is no doubt in his mind that she is an angel - soft, loving, beautiful and yet there is so much strength in her heart and soul. She has endured so much but her grace has never faltered. His love for her has only deepened every day since the day of her confession. His heart, it seems, was not only made whole that day but has also grown, swelling and expanding with the love he feels within.
Miykael could stand there, on the sidelines, and just watch her for hours but dusk is waning and fading into the depths of night. And, to be fair, she would probably notice him. He forces himself to move forward, sliding in beside her. His wings are folded at his sides and his feathers brush lightly against hers. He stops so that his head is even with her shoulder and he attempts to caress her neck with his soft lips and play with the locks of her mane cascading down her neck. After a few moments, he shifts enough so that he may try to gently press his forehead into the base of her neck. With his eyes closed, he inhales deeply; her soft, flowery scent filling his nostrils and fogging his mind ever-so-slightly. "I've missed you." he murmurs, exceedingly delighted to be by her side once again.
Alysanne could feel him watch her when he stood a little ways off before approaching fully - though she did not make eye contact just yet. She needed these extra seconds to prepare herself, to figure out how to break the news. Well, it was wonderful news so it shouldn’t be too hard - she just knew he’d be thrilled. How could he not? He loved her. So fully and completely that she could barely stand to look at him because she knew that she did not feel the same way, that she would never feel the same way.
She wondered if she would ever get the chance to see what had been starting with Voodoo, to nurture that new flame instead of stabbing at the cold coals of what did not exist between her and Miykael. No amount of prodding would get her heart to feel what it did not. The love she felt for the stallion coming towards her was no fire, it was sunlight and summer. It was comfort and family. There was no true passion between them - she could cuddle and nuzzle him for days, she would do such things with anyone. Alysanne loved to feel the touch of another playing with her mane and loved to return the favour. There was a lot of things she loved about Miykael but he was simply not one of them. Not in the way she saw in his eyes when he looked at her.
He came to her as he always did, joining her and she welcomed his touch - brushing her muzzle gently against his neck in a silent greeting. Even though he was the one she was lying to, his presence had a soothing effect on her - tricked her into believing everything was going to be okay. One of two confessions was going to come out of her now and it had to be the one that would not shatter him. Alysanne had committed herself to this lie, she would not be the one to break him now. It would be so much worse this time around if he were to find out, she did not think that their friendship could withstand it.
But now they were going to have a family, now they were going to have something to tie them together. “Mikey, I have something to tell you.” She whispered to him, a smile tugging at her face. A real one, for this was happy news no matter what else. “I’m pregnant.” He was no stranger to how foals were created, and would undoubtedly remember the circumstances that would have resulted in this situation. He might have even guessed that the news was coming but she was happy to confirm any suspicions.
Alysanne had always loved being a mother, even if she was not the greatest at it, and she could not deny how wonderful it felt to be pregnant once more.
