In an utterly mature move, the oaf of a mare did not respond to Syrena’s warning but rather moved past her and stood in the waterfall for a moment. Contrary to popular belief, ignoring insults - ignoring “bullies” - did not diminish their power. For Syrena, having caused enough of a stir to even be worthy of ignoring sent an intoxicating shiver through her. Not replying, moving away, showed her that the pale mare was weak - unwilling or unable to defend herself. Mares were never her primary targets, she tended to respect them too much, but that did not mean she didn’t enjoy baiting them, pushing them - seeing how strong they were or if they were cowards that thought their place was to be ruled by stallions.

There was some due consideration to drowning this mare right here, right now. Get those clumsy looking hooves tangled in some water plants and oops! No one would help her get up. Just as she was about to call upon that magic (which Syrena still did not know had left her) something actually interesting happened.

But just when she had made up her mind that this giantess would be a worthless companion for her, the response to her question provoked Syrena to give December her full attention. The siren’s mood visibly softened when December introduced herself as a warrior. Warrior mares she understood, she could tolerate a mare that considered herself a warrior - it was a path in life she approved.

“I am Syrena.” There is confidence in her voice, something that never left her, though she dipped her head in a polite greeting while introducing herself. As of that moment, she had not chosen a rank. She had not even asked Essetia how things worked in the Falls because she had no interest in becoming a part of this herd. She was separate from them, so different than this warrior mare that stood near her now, that joining them would be a slap in the face to her ancestors. “I’m just visiting.”

Dark eyes reevaluate December, kinder now. That storm in them not dissipated totally, it never was, but the seas were quieter for the time being. “Have you been here long, warrior?”
