No Time for Lies and Empty Fights

Hector new little of Hototo actually, but the brutal passing of the much loved stallion had a grim grip on many of the Dragon herd. Nevertheless, he was not a creature fashioned to bend at the whim of every emotion – Hector was a resilient soldier with resolve beyond reach of the tidal grief around him. He stood by, an unwavering stance, like a stoic sentinel ever on guard... Until the dark arrival mentioned his wish to join their numbers and spoke of the lost son of the Earth. Smouldering-orange shifted subtly, both curiously and cautiously, to note the sincerity in the stranger’s expression, and then again to the gold and white brother near. Breath hardened in response to the visible grief rising like choking smoke through his posture.

Still he held his tongue tightly shackled above a stiff jaw line. Though thoughts stewed in his mind, neither his responsibility (nor talent) lay in the arts of diplomacy or conversation – words only complicated the honesty of actions, or so experience led him to believe.

The name of their guest had barely the chance to fade before it fell upon them again with all of the effect of jovial bells at a funeral, from above; feminine tones slicing the hush of the brightening atmosphere as Ampere descended to join them. In a visible show of respect for status, Hector’s muscular legs swung mechanically to reverse his bulk and his thick flesh collided softly with Cera’s movement; the sharp, alert ear nearest swerved to follow the mare as she passed them by. The Gladiator greeted Mesec like they were friends of old, and the copper giant glanced away as though privacy should be granted for the sake of any further intimacy to follow.

Instead, flaming eyes came gently and protectively to rest upon Cera. The Golden Prince reported his findings thus far, and turned himself to leave – so subtly that perhaps even the clamorous female might not notice. Hector did however, and he saw too with a narrowing eye the shrunken confidence about his shoulders; he said nothing though with the pair standing nearby, and let the stallion leave in relative peace. "Mesec..." he rumbled with a chivalrous nod soon after - before further could begin between he and the Mother of Companions. "...Ampere, have you any need for me further here?" Should she wish him to stay longer, he would, but Hector felt little desire to stall his shift any longer .

(@[Mesec]. Unless there is more needed from him, Hector is out <3)
