The half-child and his friend are wandering Helovia, perhaps to explore, but secretly Adelric would like to see the prince use his magic on someone. Dark magic for a dark creature, perhaps, but the surgeon is more interested in studying the way a body reacts when magic takes hold of it, when it cannot resist, when it must do as the wielder commands. Between the two boys, Tobias walks steadily, keeping time with them. His antlers are an eclectic sort of trunk for the half-child’s collection. A horn and lock of hair from the surgeon’s father, two amulets strung up by pieces of said hair, and a small draw-string bag containing the surgical needle all hang from his tines. Perhaps these things will be of use, he wonders, as the two boys catch sight of something interesting in the distance. “Look,” he suggests quietly to his friend, already altering his course towards the monstrosity.
