Tonight I'll sign my blood on the leather and bleed together to find our own separate ways

Einarr flew harder and faster than he ever had before, eyes wide and alert. When grass shifted back into familiar, red sand, the beast turned his head to Megaera and nodded, "We tell them now." Tipping his wings some, Einarr lowered until he was merely gliding above the sand. It was barely ten feet of air separating him and the boiling sand below, but the Tallsun's warm air kept him afloat with ease. A simple downstroke every few hundred feet kept him assail.

"DRAGON'S THROAT! THE LAND IS FLOODING! GO TO THE MEADOW AND MEET THE GOD OF EARTH! HE KEEP US SAFE!" Einarr had yet to align himself to any god in particular, but he knew well that the Moon Goddess was bad news and never to be trusted because of her actions against the mortals. While Einarr did not believe that killing and murder were inherently bad, Einarr understood that a horse's heart made the actions good or bad. His mother had taught him that when he came home from his first raid. The pegasus had been but a yearling, and he had felled several creatures for the benefit of his family.

"THROAT! MAKE HASTE!"

THE STRANDS IN YOUR EYES, THAT COLOUR THEM WONDERFUL
STOP ME - AND STEAL MY BREATH.

Swiftly behind followed the former Sultana, alongside Gaucho. That the Throat would be Meg and Einarr's first stop was not surprising, yet Gaucho was pleased nonetheless. His great blackened wings kept him easily in their wake. As Einarr's voice trumpeted below, Gaucho glided alongside.

"Gaucho go North. Circle around fire and come back." He advised, banking sharply to head towards the diviners fire. The Throat was a large territory. While he was sure the four of them could easily cover it, he would have preferred that more of his flock had come here.

It was rather odd, flying over a land that was now an island, to warn them of a flood. With or without the destruction of the landbridge, the Throat was laready mostly an Island, and would have been hit just as hard by the rising waves. Still, given Gaucho's part in the recent murders, it was certainly odd timing....

"GO TO MEADOW. EARTH GOD MAKE BOAT THERE. GO TO BOAT." He bellowed, his voice leaving no room for argument.

Over his shoulder, he cast a sidelong glance at Sohalia. The sight of the pristine mare still made his heart catch in his throat. It was like seeing a ghost, she was a ghost. A hauntingly beautiful reminder of the past they had shared, a love that once was so pure and untainted.

And now?

Now they had to save everyone. They could work on saving their love later.

The Earth God's command had been made very clear. They were to warn others, to help them in their time of need to try and find the boat so that they would be safe. Before another word could be said Myrrine was running, wings fluttering and hazel eyes determined as she carried herself with grace not often found in foals. She only hoped her friend would follow, for she would be deeply saddened if he were to fall behind. She may be younger and smaller than he, but she was fast, and she worked herself in a random direction, not caring about where she went, just who she ran into. Before she knew it, the heat only grew worse, and grasses turned into red sand beneath her black hooves, mane and fluffy tail whipping behind her in the breeze. Her lungs ached from the constant use, and her mind begged her to stop, but she couldn't for she had to help Helovia in any way she could. She would help save everyone, no matter the cost. No one deserved to die when it was out of their control.

Her legs could no longer bear her weight, she had strained herself too much, the heat not helping in the slightest. They crumbled beneath her frame, causing her to slip forward, landing harshly against the red grains and leaving her heaving. Closing her eyes for a moment she took this time to rest, lips parched and body slicked in sweat. She must have looked like an utter disaster. She hoped she hadn't worried her silver friend too much. After gaining enough composure she was weakly back up on her legs, letting them wobble slightly before she was standing once again. Waiting for the boy to catch up, her attention was brought to a quartet of horses ahead of them, soaring in different directions from each other. It was smart, they were trying to cover more ground. Myrrine would help them with their task.

She turned to the boy, eyes filled with determination, tail flicking behind her as she snorted,"We need to keep going straight, the other pairs have taken to the sides. We can warn others faster if we all cover as much ground as possible." Her chest was heaving at this point, pants wracking her body, but she wouldn't give up, she wouldn't let her own obstacles stop her. Turning her spotted rump around once more she was off, trotting at a rather brisk pace, pacing herself now so as she wouldn't get hurt from heat exhaustion. As she made her way in a different direction from the other four, her light voice rang out through the flat lands,"EVERYONE! WE MUST HEAD TO THE THISTLE MEADOW! A FLOOD IS COMING, AND IT ISN'T SAFE HERE." Now, all she could do was wait, listening for her companion behind her, and also keeping an eye out for the winged ones that had been nearby, just in case they were to come her way.

my black eye casts no shadow

’Megaera come with Einarr. We board together. But we must...deliver message, as Earth God say.’ Normally should have balked at such a command if it came from anyone but Gaucho. In that moment there was such a mix of sensations boiling in Meg that she forgot to be disgruntled. First was awe; the mighty ship was a wondrous thing and part of her just wanted to explore it. Second was a controlled panic; she had to ward the herd and had to do it NOW. Third she actually agreed that what Einarr suggested was the best course of action; the God had given them a task and if there was Danger ahead, this warrior would be a good one to have at her side.

When Einarr headed directly for the Throat, Megaera did not question that decision either for it was her first instinct as well. He was far newer to the throat than she, and probably had less to tie him there, but Meg was quickly starting to see just how dedicated he was to protecting the herd, just as she was. On their first meeting he had declared himself a Warrior of Dragon’s Throat and she was glad he had not wavered from that.

Like the winds of a hurricane, they were tearing through the air. As fast as the black stallion sailed with his enormous wings, Meg matched him, and they crossed over the border to Dragon’s Throat side-by-side. When he signaled she returned his nod, face set and ready, and followed him down to course across the sand. She let her partner holler first, his voice would carry better, but they needed to split up it they were to cover the whole of the large territory in time. Gaucho appeared then, which was no surprise, and declared himself for the Diviner’s fire. She gave him a sharp nod in acknowledgement and lifter her voice to reach Einarr beside her. “I’ll take the southern coast, do a sweep of the beaches and the dunes in that direction.” As the fastest, she took the farthest route. Not pausing any longer the little bay pumped her wings for a burst of speed and rocketed southward.

She flew high, keeping a sharp eye open and alert for any members of the herd along her route. When she spotted any, a shift in the angle of her wings would pull her down into a swoop towards each straggler. “A FLOOD IS COMING!! MAKE FOR THE MEADOW AND THE EARTH GODS SHIP! TO THE MEADOW, NOW!!”

Sohalia

The angel follows the WildFire, conflicted emotions buried deep behind bi-colored eyes. She has learned to portray calm even when there is none to be found. Never mind that her lover killed her daughter while possessed by an evil goddess (or something to that effect). Never mind that she herself had disappeared without a trace for a full season. Never mind that she has yet to see her children, or share a quiet moment with the Sultan. Gods forbid this gods-forsaken land have even the semblance of peace.

But she hides the bitterness behind a quiet demeanor and tells herself that it will all be okay.

One way or another, she even knows that it is true.

But right now, she has to prioritize. And although she has been away, she still feels very much as though the Throat is her responsibility. She hopes that they do not believe she deserted them, that they will welcome her back with open wings... but today is not the day to question that. Instead, it is a day for warning, a day for bringing the masses to the boat.

A sidelong glance grants her a burst of warmth. It has been so long since she has been able to look upon her lover's face that she finds herself almost entranced by him. She smiles slightly - a mysterious look, no doubt, and an unintentional one; but nevertheless one that should intrigue him if he notices - and turns her attention to the herd.

"To Thistle Meadow!" she cries in a clear, crystalline voice. "To safety!"

"Talk talk talk."

To say everything was escalating quickly was an understatement. The Earth God had just proclaimed the world was going to be wiped out, and Myrrine seemed to be struggling. She suddenly fell then, harshly upon the ground. Cerin's eyes widened as he nudged her gently to help her to her feet. His green eyes pleaded with her that if she was truly hurt, that they should take this slowly. There was no need to rush into things, there were plenty of pairs and he wasn't about to risk her health for getting those to the boat. By the looks of it, everyone would know before the day was over. Leaders and outcasts alike were teaming up to take control of the situation.

She was suddenly up then, just as quickly as she had fallen. His body was full of fear sprinkled with a hearty amount of care. She was so determined, it made him feel so weak in comparison, yet so emboldened at the same time. If she could do it in her fragile state, so could he. Not to mention, if she was in such a shape she needed his help right? Keeping up with her was relatively easy anyway. Although she was still "young" she seemed to be growing into her yearling stage as he was growing to full maturity. His long, lanky legs took only a few strides for every couple of hers. The group ahead of them had already begun to call out, so he let Myrrine lead the way. She knew where to go to project the most news.

She finally stopped again, this time calling out the news. He rushed to hold her upright. Her falling again would only break his heart. She had to let him help her through this, they were partners no? He could already feel his heart attaching to her. Maybe it was because she was the only one who understood, or maybe it was something else. Either way, he was becoming aware of it. He did not know of her feelings, or if she would ever feel any sort of inkling of like, so he kept it hidden. It doesn't take much effort for a wallflower to hide behind the paintings.
