Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

She greeted this new task with the same enthusiasm as she had the last. Well, at least this task made a lick of sense - they were going to need to collect water to stop everyone from dying of dehydration while on the boat. That would almost be as bad as allowing them to die in the flood! This whole thing was ridiculous and she was glad that… well she hadn’t learned the name of her partner yet but she was glad that the not-as-bad-as-the-others mare seemed to be as uninterested in this whole thing as she was.
They could walk around and be scornful of the entire thing together!
“Let us hope we don’t run into that obnoxious jerk again.” She muttered, keeping an eye out for the large, loud, annoying stallion that obviously didn’t think that their warnings were good enough. They had said something it wasn’t their fault that no one had heard them.
Syrena actually found herself enjoying the little trip, though this time they did not wander quite as far. The first time she had felt drawn to the ocean and this time they found themselves at a small lake, the waters inviting her in. Forgetting entirely her companion (or pretending to forget, always aware that someone might get to watch her little trick) and wading into the warm, shallow water.
Instantly, her dull grey coat swirled with warm pinks and oranges around her legs as she carried the bucket and stopped where the surface lapped softly at her knees.
Non-chalantly she turned back to the shore to look for not-as-bad-as-the-others. "Best to get it over with." Maybe the faster they got this over with, the fewer horses would be warned and then more of them would drown!

There was a gentle smile as she tried to move in tandem with Alleo. Simply hearing his hoofbeats was enough to keep Rasta at ease these days. So, when both of them had to stop moving and listened to the instructions of the Earth God once more she decided that she would simply resort to feeling her flesh against his. Carefully, she pressed herself up beside Alleo as the task was announced before noticing another group heading to the North.
Quietly, Rasta began to follow, knowing that Alleo would be right behind her, bucket held In her mouth. It was only when they got to the Grove that Rasta moved off to the side, standing near the edge of the water and then allowing the roots to be pulled from the ground. They latched around the bucket which she had placed upon the ground and began to shovel water using the bucket. Only once she was certain it was filled did she allow the roots to place it upon the ground for her to grab when it was time to return. This wasn't that bad, now was it?
Thus far, Essetia had led Ghost on a wild goose chase. They’d wandered wherever the Sleuth’s will desired and that was perfectly acceptable for Essetia. After all, it wasn’t often that she got to make such crucial decisions… Romul was especially pleased with his companion’s decision to trail Syrena and her unusual partner to the Secret Grove. If Essetia hadn’t known better, she would have thought that Romul fancied the stunning mare and her vibrant capabilities. Of course, there was the small matter of their bond… Yet it didn’t stop Essetia from attempting to conceal the jealousy at being left for another. The wolf did not wait for permission to approach the Siren and yipped eagerly at her heels, much to Essetia’s chagrin.
“It is good to see you again Syrena,” the Sleuth allowed with a small smile. After nodding to Syrena’s partner, Essetia turned to Ghost, all awe and inspiration, “This is Ghost- our Czarina.”
With that, the mare dipped her head to collect the bucket at her feet and went to push it into the small pool beyond. Essetia had certainly become fond of Syrena, but Romul seemed to surpass her own ability to bond with others. Maybe one day she would be able to copy his behaviors… Until then, she would simply have to deal with her own inability to connect.
Alleo was perfectly content to trail behind Rasta as they undertook their second task. His own bucket hung from his lips and his gaze shifted every now and again from Rasta to the pair that they were following behind. It really didn't matter to him that all of Helovia was going to be flooded and that they would all be on a boat together. All of them. The only thing that mattered to him was that Rasta was safe, that she was taken care of. He moved to stand beside her when she stopped and he paused to watch as she used her magic to fill her bucket with water. She never ceased to surprise him, that was for sure. The stallion took a moment to fill his bucket then set it down beside Rasta's and touched his muzzle to her shoulder. "We can head back whenever you're ready." He murmured before lifting his eyes to look at the others that were with them. They all smelled of the Falls, but he did not go out of his way to meet any of them. Still, he nodded his head in greeting. "Hello."

When she had originally signed up for this whole partner thing the last thing she had been wanting to do was lug buckets of water halfway across Helovia. The only good thing was at least her partner was sensible enough to chose somewhere close by. Balancing the wooden pail between her wings she trudged along after the oddly coloured mare with the same neutral expression she had the day before. Well she couldn't say it had been horrible so far on this adventure for the two of them seemed to share similar opinions on this whole boat brigade. Flicking her ears to catch the vocals of her still nameless partner she couldn't help but smirk. "Which one?" She replied laughing. Yesterday had been a day of dealing with many jerks so it was a valid question not that she expected an answer.
Arriving at the small lake the hybrid reached around behind her to snag her bucket from its resting place, setting it down in front of her. Too bad that when it was full it wouldn't be able to go back up there without killing her wings in the process. It was nice not to have to carry the thing in her mouth but it was what it was, she would deal with it. Glancing up as hoofbeats announced the arrival of more Helovians she passed her eyes over a few odd mares that she had not met before. Nodding in return to their silent greetings she was glad to not have to initiate small talk with them. "If the Earth God can flood this entire place why the hell can't he fill his own buckets?" She commented to no one in particular as she stepped forward into the warm waters pulling the bucket with her.
