The water was easily brought back. Both mares were strong, which seemed to be fit for this task. Her mind wandered back to how in the heck either Auriel or Shida would drag these things back. Hopefully their caretakers would assist them so they don't break something.

The Earth God had yet again another task. This one was the collect foliage to plant on the boat. An idea immediately came to mind, and she looked to her companion. The Falls was filled with a number of green things, trees and flowers alike. It would be easy to find something there to return with. "Mind heading to the Falls with me?" She queried turning in the direction. It was a rhetorical question in Elsa's mind, but there was always room for Dovahkiin to object. There would be nothing worse than to force a new acquaintance into a place they did not want to be.

Picking up a brisk canter she moved as fast as possible to the Falls. It seemed that nowadays these Gods thought that the horses here all had superpowers. All of the strength and speed that they requested was dragging every ounce of energy from Elsa. It began to show in her face which had now been warn down by the roughness of time. Her eyes looked a little off too, more red and puffy than normal.

The Falls was in view after a little bit of time had passed. Elsa's coat was slick with sweat, for the Tallsun season was in its full glory. Snorting, she dipped beneath the waterfall, and already had found what she wanted. Along the inside of the cave lined a pretty ivy. It clung to the damp rock, and seemed to be sufficient at growing. Elsa herself had never tasted it but a single plant that grew a lot would feed regardless of whether or not it was actually good. Plucking some of the wings, she looked to Dovahkiin. Elsa offered her a small smile full of stringy ivy, and nodded toward her. She could find what she wanted, but for now, Elsa was going to stick to the coolness of the cave. It was much better than cooking in the light.

As soon as the water had been gathered, another task was thrown at their hooves. Go pick plants. Honestly? Couldn't the God of the Earth populate the land with plants after his flood dissipates? He is the God of the motherfucking Earth. At least, that's what all the locals say. Apparently, he isn't much of a God - at least not to an outsider like Dovahkiin. She snorts impatiently, green eyes glaring at the large 'God' with as much piercing force she could muster. This whole thing was getting quite ridiculous. She wanted to approach him, to ask why they had to gather anything when, as an Earth God, he could just make everything re-grow after he flooded the whole damned place. But she restrained herself, biting her tongue to prevent the words from exploding from her mouth.

The pale mare speaks then, pulling Dovahkiin back into the competition mindset and temporarily erasing her irritation. "Lead the way, partner." she agrees, nodding her head just once. Elsa takes off, moving quickly into a canter. Inwardly, the black unicorn groans but she follows suit with little hesitation. Her black coat is slick with sweat, shining beneath the light of the freakishly hot sun. The longer she canters along with the taller winged mare, the more the sweat starts to foam on the base of her neck and just behind her front legs. The muscles in her legs burn, her heart pounds in her ears, and her body offers little encouragement to continue.

But she does anyway.
They can't give up now.
They can't lose.

Soon, though, a waterfall is before them. Elsa ducks beneath it and disappears. Dovahkiin pauses for only a moment before taking her time sliding beneath the water - allowing the water to pour over every inch of her dark coat. The slight coolness of the water helped to rejuvenate the mare - not much but any amount was certainly helpful at this point. Once within, she pauses a moment, enjoying the brief respite from the summer heat. "So, how long have you been here? Do you enjoy the Falls?" she asks casually. Peridot hued eyes looking into her ship-mates for only a moment before she allows a smile to curl her lips. Dovahkiin shifts then, heading into the cave a bit seeking out any plants she could find and gathering a small collection of her own. She grabbed a variety but, like Elsa, chose to linger before heading back. The coolness of the cave offered a welcome break - one that she was reluctant to leave.

get up, get out, get away from these liars
'cause they don't get your soul
or your fire

Mesec noticed some of the faces they had seen by the river travelling together in the direction of the Edge and grew worried. Would Apollo want to go help them save what they could of their herd? They needed to work together but… going to the Edge was a rather complicated option at the moment. The smile that had been present throughout the day so far disappeared as he looked at the older stallion, a worried little frown darkening his face. “I know you’ll probably want to go help your friends but… I'm sorry but I’m not ready to go to the Edge.”

He hoped Apollo would understand - wondering if his kind friend had heard about what his mother had done. The risk of running into her was too high there, whether his presence would draw her out from wherever she hid (though it was hard to imagine her hiding anywhere). Mesec simply didn’t understand her, couldn’t predict her any more than anyone else could, and did not want to take the chance.

So instead he took the lead this time and followed someone else - wondering if they would lead them somewhere interesting, somewhere with a plant or tree worth saving. The pair they followed - a pale pegasus and a red-striped unicorn - lead them to what had once been their home. The Foothills reborn, changed. He was cautious - wondering if maybe this was somewhere Apollo did not want to go just as he had not wanted to go to the Edge - and stayed alert for signs of discomfort in his friend. After his request, it would hardly be polite of him to go and ignore one in return.

Through the waterfall and into a cave where they could view some of the changed herdland, Mesec could not help but to take a moment and just look at everything. Bits and pieces seemed familiar but most of it was different. Disappointment flooded through him - he had found a family here, an actual home, and now there was nothing left.

Regretting this decision, he nonetheless moved forward in the cave where the mares they had followed here were picking ivy off of the cave walls. “Uh, hi there. Do either of you live here?” The black and silver stallion asked quietly, but with luck loud enough to hear over the roar of the waterfall. “Is there anything you think we should focus on saving?” Maybe there was a special tree or plant that was special to the members of the Falls. They might as well see if they could help out, right?
