ISOPIA
In reality's shadow the blind see best.

The girl watched as Mesec smiled. For a fleeting second her mind considered how handsome he was. How dark his body was in contrast to his bright gaze. Something about how cold and dark he appeared, combined with the warmth of his personality seemed appropriate. His heritage after all - the moon and the night - were equal parts dark and light; warm and cold. The girl had no concept of the biological importance of being cousins, or why her thoughts might be inappropriate given that relationship. Were she made aware, she might wonder about the nature of their parents, and whether the Goddess and her father actually shared a blood relationship, or whether it was necessity and magic that held them together. However as the shadows began to gather around him her mind snapped away from such thoughts, instead trying to comprehend how it could be that the area around him was growing darker, given that the sun hadn't moved, or been covered by anything.

The girls' mouth gaped as Mesec simply disappeared. She knew this was magic, and yet her eyes failed to believe it. Her magic seemed ... seemed realistic somehow. Like she was simply bending the earth. Mesec on the other hand seemed to be bending light, which was nearly incoherent in her small mind. Her gold stare searched the patch were he had just stood, as if trying to see through his illusion somehow. As his teeth found her dark mane, the girl jumped. Her wings splayed from her sides as her body swung around to face him. Nostrils flaring, the girl's golden gaze was one part shock and surprise and one part annoyed. She wasn't annoyed with him of course, only with herself for not being aware of him sooner.

The girl forced a smile, allowing her mismatched wings to lower back to her flanks. Appreciation and intrigue tugged at her lips until her smile was genuine. "That was ..." For once in her life (possibly for the first time) the girl was speechless. Her mind scanned for a word to describe what she was feeling, but found none. What one word simultaneously meant impressive, cool, intriguing and epic? "...do it again!" She breathed finally, her golden gaze wide and full of shimmer anticipation as she stared at her older cousin. Blades of grass began to creep up her legs as dirt covered her hooves, but the girl didn't seem to mind. In fact she ignored her own passive magic completely, focused solely on the abilities of her older kin.
