He was all gallantry and pleasantness, and the girl could not help a school-girl's blush from filling her expression, though it was only momentary, as she recovered with a graceful nod, and moved smoothly into a walk. So, he knew about her and her family - the girl felt that strange, undefinable sensation again, only it was coloured less with betrayal and more with a warmth now. That Lace would talk of her so fondly.. She felt guilty for the feelings she had before, the knee-jerk reaction of doubt and fear. It was easy now, to welcome this new brother into her family, to feel at ease with him - at least, to begin to. With each step they took together, she became more fluid in her motions, more natural, instead of the awkward hybrid not-quite-a-mare being she felt like most of the time.
They spoke of a great many things, Amaris clarifying where she could on facts about the land. "Not exactly. The gods are generous, but one must prove themselves worthy of their gifts." Amaris herself had always been overlooked whenever she sought out the company of a God, though she had only really ventured towards them out of curiosity. Her gift of summoning spirits was something she had been born with, blessed with - did she truly need anything else? "The God of the Sun watches over the Throat." She answered quietly, unsure of what to make of the tone behind his questioning. "Gaucho the Wildfire leads us.. He was recently blessed by our Lord to become ascended." Though she didn't understand the implications of the word entirely, she knew it was something grand, something that put one on a similar shelf as the Gods themselves.
The sounds and smells of the ocean neared, and Amaris smiled at the young brute's words. "Come on," she spoke excitedly, allowing the energy to fill her up, reaching out with her scaled muzzle to nudge him into motion. They were trotting, and then cantering, and as they approached the great expanse of water that separated the Throat from the rest of Helovia, Amaris spread her wings. The key that was entwined with her mane activated itself with the magic blessed to them, and the bridge came to life, a blaze of glorious fire and light stretching its way across the crashing waves below. As the girl descended from her short flight, to land upon the bridge, she turned to look at Cathun, keen to see if she could illicit one of his dramatic reactions. A smile curved her lips, before she turned again and travelled to her home - their home, if he would have it.
