He didn't object to her confident declaration. If the colt felt anything but gratitude and vague amusement upon seeing Amaris' optimistic grin it didn't show through, and as he made to follow her deeper into the Throat he appeared to drop the subject entirely. Sightseeing overtook his attention, and while he looked forward to that promised bath and a chance to rest, Cathun thoroughly enjoyed himself as he was guided towards the Oasis. While barren and dry beneath a relentless sun, there was beauty in the arid landscape, and as he loved the shimmering heat that rose from the shifting sand and red rocks he rather quickly decided that he would like it there.

At least, once he got used to walking in the sand. The first few meters were fine, but soon enough the constant shifting, slipping and digging to find traction for his hooves was beginning to take its toll. His legs burned with fatigue, lungs straining for air all while he tried not to look too desperately thirsty as a scent of water - fresh, not salty - came wafting on a gentle breeze. Until he got used to it, just walking from one place to another was going to be hell.

Well. No matter. At least he would get stronger - Amaris had piqued his interest as she rushed through the ranks, and while he had yet to actually accept the invitation to stay his mind was already conjuring up vivid imagery of himself leading a charge against a faceless enemy, banners flying and glistening armor flashing in the light of the sun...

"Say, Rii, what's that big tree over there?" he asked eventually, nudging the head towards a huge arboreal structure with awe in the eyes. They were drawing closer and his eyes grew wider and wider the nearer the trunk they went. "It's enormous, I have never seen such a big one before! And that glow in the sky over there, what's that?" Not waiting for a reply to the first query he looked off in the distance where a soft glow rivaled the sun in brightness, pale now but surely blazing and magnificent once darkness fell.

@[Amaris] ugh sorry for the sucky, Cat thought we were finished and didn't want to write more >.> I made him.
